The thing is, disney tends to be pretty tame when it comes to the MCU. Disney doesn't really go out of their way to do something that's too unique or out there because these movies still have to be accessible for younger audiences so they can maximize profits . That's why everything just has a pg-13 rating slapped on to it and the movies in general arent that different from each other and tend to be formulaic.

@@thesnipingspider3852 Uh no. All of that trauma (and the influence of the darkhold) is what pushed her to be crazy. She didn’t just suddenly go beserk just over her kids alone, but her kids are the one thing that she’s most recently in pursuit of as of now. She had her parents, they’re dead, she kept going. She had her brother, he’s dead, she kept going. She had vision, he’s dead, it’s pushed her to the edge because this it’s the third time she’s having to deal with grief. But she had her kids, they’re lost but there’s a way to get them back, and that is what pushed her over the edge to go and do all of this. She’s dealt with too much and she doesn’t want to do it again especially since there’s a possibility that she doesn’t have to. *that* is what pushed her over the edge.

The scariest part for me is the fact that Mind Manipulation for Wanda now is pretty much second nature to her. She no longer needs to get close to targets like she did in Age of Ultron. Speaking of which. There were a total of two times that they could've killed Wanda. One was when she still had Wong strung up and that girl sacrificed herself to destroy the Darkhold. The second was when Charles and her were having a mental fight. The thing with Wanda that I saw is that she can't attack in the real world and fight a mental battle at the same time. In the time it took for Christine to help out Chavez one of them could've killed her right there and then with a shard of glass.

Anyone else think about how this wasn’t just a horror interpretation but an expression of how that universe was different. I read the switch in editing, corny lines, actually great slasher horror homage shots as denoting a “television-esk” universe. A time honored trope like when they jump into the tv dimension in fairly odd parents

This wording was clunky looking back. I think Raimi was leaning into both his personal style and that of other tv/film genres from “his” era to achieve the “other” universe feel.

Fing Reed Richards who is one of the smartest people in the Marvel universe gets taken out like that, and Black Bolt who is op as shit also bam 10 seconds gone, we didn't even see him in action. Captain Carter held on more against Wanda than these two but it should've been the other way around. I think I am going to through the multiverse and "retire" all my doppelgangers so I can become the One. Haha. I really think they are cramming too much into these shows now that you really are beginning to lose the narrative. Time travel/alternate timelines are one of my favorite tropes in science fiction and I have written some myself and you really have to be meticulous in the booking aspect of the genre or it quickly becomes a real mess. The time travel aspects of the MCU were a mess to begin with and now you have several series all messing with the multiverse and the number of narrative threads seem to grow with each show. The Watcher, Kang, He Who Remains, the TVA, and so on have all been introduced within the multiverse and certainly can't be mutually exclusive with each other since it is the same multiverse. First it was Loki and Sylvie opening the multiverse, than Dr. Strange botched a spell and opened the multiverse and the TVA still exists so what they are doing and supposedly Kang is the one who conquered all so why isn't he doing whatever it is he does to become He Who Remains yet the Watcher is supposedly looking out over the multiverse and even though he isn't supposed to interfere he always does anyway so is he just going to let things slide this time, and... I am too tired to go on. Way too many narrative threads are hanging out there. Sure they could possible tie them all up at some point but honestly, even if they do, it will be an ad hoc mess at best.

The writing in this movie was so bad. The fact that one character came across an alternate self from another universe who said "prove to me that you are who you say you are - tell me something only I know" and the character dives headfirst into a story about something that happened to the character's sister as a kid with a lot of details, and the alt character said "sounds about right" - as if every single universe has this same hyper-specific event occur which was never talked about before or after - like what? Literally how can this movie be about a villian who wants to be in a universe where she has kids, yet another character apparently has a sibling that died as a child from falling through ice that we never see in every single universe? It's so dumb.

This! I think the writing on that one was really bad because it didn't make sense. Not to mention, they label him later as coming from a specific universe, but how did they even know that was the universe he came from? Had they met all or most of the other Dr. Strange's to be able to label them?

Spoilers here! ... This movie was an entertaining mess. I have so many questions after watching it earlier today. Apparently main MCU Wanda Maximoff is dead now? If there are other universes in which she does have children, surely their dad can't be Vision? Since when do androids have sperm? Also, even though the Baron Mordo variant was cool to see, where TF is main MCU Baron Mordo? Apparently, before the events of this movie Doctor Strange and Mordo had a confrontation in which Mordo died or something? And lastly, Charlize Theron as a purple power ranger who can also open portals to other universes? Wtf? After a Google search apparently the character is known as Clea and she's another sorcerer that's also a potential love interest of Doctor Strange.

There are infinite possibilities in regards to the Multiverse Wandas and the different Visions (he could be alive in other universes) the main Wanda we watched isn't necessarily dead but she self destructed and is also going around destroying the evil book across the Multiverse. My concern about that is that 2 other Wandas are now also aware of ours so we might see a version of her again and maybe this time she isn't seduced into the dark side. Maybe she never meets Agatha.

It should have been Wanda's movie outright instead of a Dr Strange sequel, it felt more like the sequel to WandaVision than to the first Dr Strange movie. It felt ambitious but not quite living up to its own ambition which makes it work as a part in overall larger story I just hope they know where to go next and I have theories that I will keep to myself because I don't want to spoil it. That said I like how unhinged Scarlett Witch was especially in regards to a few of those cameos and I appreciated America Chavez being introduced because I feel like she will be very important later to clean up some of the open questions we are dealing with and I hope she gets more development and time. Overall yes it's great if you like the MCU, it's enough different that I appreciate it but I did want more from it. As for the horror when it got into what Sam Rami is good at (the perspective and the tracking shots) it was excellent and unsettling. I wish he had more control over it but ya gotta work with the house of mouse and it was still one of the darkest and most uncomfortable part of the MCU for me thus far and I'm a big horror nerd too

Plus, Elizabeth Olsen just renewed her contract, so she's probably gonna return in the near future. Also, if she ever does a reunion with Monica, it's gonna be HELLA Awkward. "Hey, bestie. I'm so glad someone else shares the same gripe that the dialogue felt a bit, for lack of a better word, clunky at times. Some bits felt forced and empty. When Defender Strange starts to take Americas powers in the Gap Junction, her 'Youre killing me' line felt really trivial and had no feeling in it. I understand that she's shocked that she's being betrayed, but surely you'd be scared af. Like the way she said it almost felt like something from a kids film where the stakes were really low.. I don't know how else to explain it. Also, when Wanda talks to her kids in her 'dream', with the "Family is forever" line, which felt shoehorned in and unnatural. It came out of nowhere and no dialogue from the children seemed to prompt that line from her. But maybe I'm nitpicking? I still thought the film was visually stunning and definitely felt like a real pivotal point for how the rest of the MCU will play out. I lived for the elements of horror and some of the brutal death scenes made me audibly gasp in theatres. All in all, I found it a brilliant film, just thought some parts of dialogue could have been polished a bit more.

my thoughts about the movie is its more of like power showcase after wanda vision for wanda to establish that SHE IS THE SCARLET WITCH and how op she is. and for strange, it's more of like a character buildup again and the trending "because tony learns from his mistakes" but it's strange version because he gained the knowledge or the learned from 'his' mistakes by travelling to the other universes. there's literally only a small portion showcasing what strange can do and the only most impressive is when he dreamwalked and used the souls of the damned to boost him up. a definitely character buildup that he can always find loopholes or alternatives to improve his sorcery.

Alright, hear me out and please, read the whole thing. I have been a fan of my boy Strange for like 12 years now and as also a huge fan of mcu even with it's flaws, Strange 2 was not especially a good movie and it hurts me. Alright, so.. 1.) America Chavez was a living/breathing mcuffing for Strange and buddies to have a way to move through the Multiverse and she was never created nor used in any media properly than just representation (escpecially in this one) as she never was created as a good character to begin with. 2) Hyping up the most powerful artifact/relic/magical item in all of the Kamar-Taj sorcerers inventory and then just showing it for under a minute before burning it away and forgetting it for the rest of the movie, even tho in the start of the movie it seemed important. As my fellow comic fans know, The Book of the Vishanti is THE opposite thriving force against the Darkhold and literally one the most important things Strange & buddies have in their inventory. 3) Strange in the credits scene, where Clea appears to him, talking him about the incursion and fixing it, not bad BUT the thing that bothers me a lot is that our modern Strange was still connected to the raw chaos magic and power of Chthon, even tho he is supposed to be the exact opposite to Wanda. To be more clear, Wanda is the champion/chosen one of Chthon, whereas Strange is the Vishanti's. Wanda holds the book of Chthon a.k.a the Darkhold, whereas Strange wields it's polar opposite the Book of the Vishanti and of course Oshtur united with her son, Agamotto and her alien-god friend Hoggoth to form the Vishanti against Chthon. 4) Chavez being the only 'her' one in the Multiverse doesn't make sense regarding with SO MANY things in the MCU and the comics. 5) The absolute garbage thing is to hear the writers talk about the MCU as the universe 616 disgusts. The MCU is not the 616 and it never will/shall be. The last point also should be enough to concern you, that if America is the only 'her' in the Multiverse, then how tf she didn't have any original connection to the main cast/events happened in the mcu etc, etc. 6) They never explained what's the thing with the Eye of Agamotto for now. Most likely as we saw it was used like an actual Eye of Agamotto, it still contained the power that Agamotto has made it to have. 7) In the end of the first Strange movie we see Mordo doing the "now I know what's wrong with the world, too many sorcerers" but never see "our" mcu Mordo to begin with after that but all we hear is that he had clashed one or two times with Strange after the first movie. Problem being they told us about it and not showed the action. Overall, even though how hardcore Strange I am and have been for the longest time, this movie had A LOT of big and too overwhelming mistakes that just cannot be overlooked. But as I have witnessed, there are too much blind ppl watching this and forgetting the lore, history, pasing and overall flaws and just calling it clean and perfect from the start. This movie was about a Wanda's story after WandaVision and Multiversal Taxi made manifest taking Strange and buddies through WaCkY aDvEnTuReS through the Multiverse and not a true Strange sequel.

That’s because all they care about is that it’s a pop culture thing even though most people who say they enjoy it when you ask them what they like they lie give some vague answer then ride for the franchise harder than anyone has before but if you point out stuff like this they would rather deny it so they can continue to live in fantasy land

I thought this movie was such a good time and fun to watch. I loved the horror elements, and how different it was from all the other marvel movies! I can see why a lot of people didn’t like this, and why many people call it dumb. But the intent was for it to be multiverse madness. Lol love it

Why, given that they set him up as the next villain in the first film, was Baron Mordo just a cameo and it wasn’t even 616’s Baron Mordo it was an alternative universe one who is a good guy not a bad guy???

They literally killed off Professor X, Mr. Fantastic, and Black Bolt in two seconds, and in the most ridiculously/humiliatingly easy way possible. They treated these characters like shit just to move the plot forward.

What you mean?? That was one of the best parts. It showed how strong Wanda is. Plus they aren't supposed to be established as characters we care about...they are only variants, and more variants like them can show up in other movies in a more meaningful way.

even tho they are variants they still have the same power. yea wanda is way too op but they should at least give her a good fight. this movie was rush and marvel just put a lot of cameos thinking they can escape the fact that this movie was trash

I do wonder what Wanda, Steven and America's reactions would be to me. Probably something ranging between "Jeez Louis, I get that this is just some kind of strange kid-like regular guy, and yet, why is he so intelligent about everything? He seems to know a lot about the world around him and around anything he hyperfixates on before sinking back into his insanity or his cartoons and video games or whatever else he wants to get away from reality with" to "oh... poor kid, adult, whoever this... well, whilst calling him a thing is accurate, he's just way too human to the point where I feel it's insulting, he just feels so many emotions and has to manage them every single day, yeah, I won't mess with him period". Wanda would probably also eventually realize from the hints I give her that she can just chuck this Darkhold at him and he would flee from it and then that's when I would use "her children" to have them tell her to stop. I don't need to use "mind-control" (it's much more like body possession/emotional puppeteering with ghosts) since I know I can just ask them and they would oblige.

I think Marvel should tone down the Multiverse , no because I hate it , I love the Multiverse saga , but the critics and a majority of the fans expect all the cameos in the world when there's the word multiverse in it.

you are absolutely right! To me, is weird that Wanda is gone now! She looked like a worse threat than Thanos but her evolution and downfall went down in just one movie.
