Yeah when I first heard about Midnight Suns and heard it was going to be a card game I thought oh no not another Fifa Ultimate Team clone. So I initially dismissed it as something I didn't think I'd be intreested in. But ever since I saw gameplay at the Summer Game fest it quickly did a 180 on me and convinced me just how wrong my initial fears were and also since having tried my hand at Xcom I actually think this could end up being my personal GOTY. I've been hoping for a good superhero RPG type game this could just be about to tick that box. Can't wait to start playing but thankfully we only have another couple of months till it drops.

@@ArthurGhoul3555 no they are not. Midnight Sons consisted of GR both Danny Ketch and the OG Johnny Blaze both who were integral to the story and should have stayed that way. Morbius, blade, Dr.strange and the night stalkers were the other inclusions. Cap and iron were never a part of thag team nor do they work in the story. The point of MS was they had to recruit different kinds of evil partly to defeat Lilith, it was a dark, brutal story and this game shows no signs of doing proper Justice to that. So again either do the story and proper team Justice or don’t do it. Also don’t make it a card based turn dependent game. It looks, plays and shows no signs of being more than a guaranteed over priced and over glorified mobile game.

From what i gathered, i think you "ARE" the main toon the "Hunter" so she is the one you have to use as your main on every mission, and the other 2 "3 team" are whoever you want to use. I'm sure certain missions will do well for different toons. Some work better i guess with one another as well. But i may be wrong, this is just my take on all i have see and read about it.

well in reality it is necessary for the scenario to be smaller than the other xcoms, with 5 heroes they would be very full so they chose only you to choose 3, you can change the "Hunter" if you want, They opted for 3 to stay solid with the scenario otherwise we would see a scenario full of heroes.

For me that's a good thing as that encourages replayability. It makes you want to keep coming back to the game to try out new combinations. Especially given there's also going to be 4 more charactres being added later as DLC.

@@johngallo7383 That's mainly why I said above that plus as an experienced Mass Effect and Dragon Age player in particular this is one of the main reasons why I still play ME and DA years later. Because I love using differen tcombination an different styles of ways to get through the various levels in a game. Midnight Suns is definitel yon eof those games I thin ka tleas tfor me that I'll want to play moer than once. After recently playin gX com fo rthe firsttime I go tthe same feeling out of that. So I can definitel ysee myself spending moer time with both Xcom and Midnight suns.

I don't think there will be official mod support, given that this is a Marvel licensed game. Somehow, card games don't seem as moddable as other kinds of games. I'd like to be proven wrong though. If this does have mod support, we could be getting extra heroes and villains, modded in by the community, which could be huge for replayability.

Yeah ew'll be starting out withhim Iron man and Captain Marvel based off the intro vid it looks like. We'll ge tMagi kan dNico Minor uonce our Hunter is woken up. After that we pick up the various others by progressing through the game. Though I do think based off what I heard we do pick up Spidreman fairly early in the game just not at the start.

@@duncanconstruction8642 It is Turned based and it is cards. Still looks great with great gameplay. Everyone who has tried it, as far as I have heard, really likes it. If you like turned based strategy this game will be for you. If you don't you probably won't like this one either. But the devs were aiming for Turned based tactics gameplay in combat, RPG elements with light strategy outside of that. And the setting was going to be in the marvel universe. So far it looks like they have been able to do all of that with great results. But we will see when the full game releases. So far I haven't heard a single good arguemnet why the game would be bad outside "I don't like turned based strategy". And that's fair enough. Not all games are for everyone and no one ever said it would be. I never play FPS, but that doesn't mean they are all garbage. That would be silly for me to say.

Don't pay attention to this guy, he's just a troll. Hating for the sake of it. This game isn't meant for you, it's not to your preference, you'll never understand it. Firaxis always make quality strategy games, and their games always offer a lot of replayability. There are 12 heroes (and more coming as DLC) and you can only take 3 heroes per combat, so already there's a lot of replayability with hero selection and building relations with each hero. Plus, you have deck building which in and of itself allows for different decks to be built every time. And, if there's mod support, that boosts the replayability and shelf-life of the game even more.

The presentation looks terrible like a over glorified mobile game and the combat boring. They couldn’t even give us the proper team of Midnight SONS not Suns, GR in the story is Danny Ketch not Robbie and not having Danny the story doesn’t work as it involves him. In addition to that a complete DISSERVICE to the story of MS itself. The point of that story was they had to recruit the worst/darkest of marvel’s anti heroes who were nearly villains themselves to beat Lilith. If they weren’t going to do the story and characters proper and not make this a card based snooze fest then DON’T DO IT! Also as this game was delayed for a long time now it likely says they weren’t getting much positive reception. As the prior demo they were torn to shreds in the livestream and afterwards
