Once upon a time back issues was all my comic knowledge. Then in an else world exchange about alternate realities sal mentioned he recommends "kingdom come" as a good entry point to reading comics. I read it, and now read comics all the time, its helped keep me away from drugs alcohol and keeps me clean and sober. So Jason Aaron's Last day of magic arc and Thor's Godkiller arc are basically the same story. Bad guy used to worship this thing, then get betrayed by it, got angry and get revenge on that thing by wanting to kill all of it

I loved the Jason Aaron run on Strange. It wasn't what I was expecting for my first Dr Strange book, but I was so glad I read it. I loved The Way of the Weird. The Death of Magic was cool. And the last arc with Mr Misery was a great end to the run. I honestly wish the run was longer, just like I wish this episode was longer. Thanks for doing this one Tiffany. It was very fun.

In regards to Magik (the character) she actually did learn magic the regular way. Her traditional powers were teleportation via 'stepping disks' into Limbo and out somewhere else, but because of X-men and time travel, she learnt magic from alternate future versions of Storm and Kitty Pryde, as well as Belasko (then ruler of Limbo) in the OG Magik mini in the 80s, which is amazing.

I am a HUGE Doctor Strange fan, and I love watching your videos. Tiffany is really articulate and you can just feel the passion she has for the character. I read the comics when they first came out, so I knew what was going to happen, but watching this video was so fun that didn't feel anywhere near an hour. Fantastic job. Keep up the good work. Also, I want that Marvel Gallery Doctor Strange Variant statue in the upper left of the frame; I've got the regular one, but the astral projection one is killer!

I miss Bachalo so much, i loved his art and how good was with Strange. It was a very stark contrast between last days of magic and secret empire tie in, the story was cool but the writing was abysmall Mordo being the worst offender (talking like a teenage), and i liked the Loki Sorcerer supreme storyline (but i am glad its over). I still miss Bachalo art

FYI. magik's mutant ability is teleportation, but due to being raised in the limbo dimension, she knows magic. So yeah, looks like Aaron didn't do his homework after all. But in all seriousness this is a great story, and back issues episode.

I've loved this run so much! I picked up the first couple issues initially because of the amazing art (the color work is beautiful) but fell off due school and work. I read through it myself after watching and I was curious if the 3rd volume is comparable in quality because you said the follow up wasn't nearly as good, but I wasn't sure if that was pertaining to that volume or after Aaron leaves. I guess this might either be a case of Illyana being selfish or being slightly evil since her teleportation powers are her mutant ability and not magical, but it can be tiring and could lead the empirkul to Limbo which is a completly magical albeit evil magic realm. She also knows teleportation magic presumably that takes less energy for her then the mutant power I guess.

All in all I really would like to see someone who can write Illyana write a mini involving Illyana with Aaron being kind of a directive force in terms of explaining how Illyana's stuff works in relation to magic, even if the magic has returned to the world finding out more about one of the weirder x-men would be nice.

Yeah soulsword is magical, Bendis also had her train under a younger Doctor Strange to help her deal with Limbo because of problems with that from the aftermath of AvX.
