to be fair to 42 tho, impossible planet/satan's pit was actually heavily inspired by the episodes from the 3rd doctor era: 'The Daemons' and the 'Three Doctors'. if u took ideas from those two stories and mushed them together, u got 'impossible planet/satan's pit'. I can't really knock 42 for being similar to an episode that was an amalgamation of other episodes from classic who. but each to his own :)

The first half of this series wasnt great but the second half has some of the best episodes since series 1. The next two in particular are probably my favourite of all time.

This episode was tension pure, everywhere tension, 42 min, also u get hunted by some sun possesed humans, martha is in a rescue pod with a dude and nearly gets flamed(cause of the situation a rescue pod became a death pod, the opposite of it , funny and ironic at the same time), while time is still tickin, and hunted by 2 flame demons in that moment, then Doctor gets possesed (his speech was marvelous, about humans and their greedy and dumb nature, Fantastic, and the stuff they sucked from the sun to use it as some kind of fueling, had also ironically the opposite effect, cause of that they couldnt use their spaceship thing to get away, it didnt let them go, so the fueling had the opposite effect too, u must watch closely and u see many many things then,, so many messages everywhere), tension everywhere all the time plus all the time the calm announcement from the board computer,, hillarious ,(and yes, that dudes with the helmets were a reference to Darth Vader,, same kind of helmet just in red/black, also same breathing noises like Vader) Also,, everything is great,, (god i hate people on youtube )

No,, i love this episode as much as i like everything else of the show, no 1 seems to get the tension, the messages everywhere, and the Darth Vader reference with the helmet and the breathing sounds,, it is hillarious,, also the speech from The Doctor while bein possesed , is outstanding in every way this show is 1 giant masterpiece and people should appreciate it more .. everything of it ^^
