@@friendlyotaku9525I feel like you are kind of underplaying the effect Murray's music has on the show. He's easily the bst composer the show has ever had, and you can even compare this through Jodie's era, which wasn't done by Gold, and was not as catchy and good. He did it all through Tennant, Smith and Capaldi and was a massive reason why the show has been as succesful as it is​

Must admit that the 60th anniversary theme arrangement has become a new favourite, which I call bombastic in a positive sense! (Been listening to it on a loop - both opening and closing - since Saturday evening.) I know that some fans aren't keen on the opening fanfare, but I personally think it's ten times superior to the one from the 2010-2013 themes.

I personally love the 2010-2013 theme. But also love this theme. What I love about this one is it kinda captures the feel of each of the themes New Who... Almost like it's a farewell, signalling the end of this "second era" before Ncuti starts the third? #headcanon

I still find my favourite bit is the gasping 'breaths' in the background. Some novices may mistake this noise as a Gallifreyan choir but is in fact the noise the tardis makes because the doctor STILL leaves the brakes on.

this is honestly so refreshing and masterful that it's slowly convincing me to give doctor who another shot after it fell (in my opinion) with the twelfth. that's just how good this composition is, and i'm so happy to see that so many others agree that it is essentially perfect. not only that, but it's just SO refreshing after the trash that was the 13th's opening theme. fourteen and fifteen just seem so promising.

I love the theme but it doesn't work with the actual intro sequence or tone of the episode at all, I wonder how much time Gold was actually given to score these specials because a lot of the music in Star Beast felt rather odd.

I have to agree. I think Murray knocked it out of the park with this theme and it sounds bombastic and proud of it like Murray of old. However, the actual scores for the episodes I found incredibly underwhelming. It was too subtle, not exciting like old Murray. It almost felt like Murray was embarrassed to be using the old themes as they rarely played and when they did they weren't exactly front and center in the score like they should have been.

A fantastic theme as always! When I heard that Murray Gold would be returning as the composer, I knew the theme would be epic. I truely love all his compositions! Frankly, the last 3 seasons' compositions did not sound that great to me. I'm gonna continue watching the series again!

3 things I don't like about Murry Golds theme. 1-He's hidden the bass dumm-de-dumm so much you can't even hear it. 2- He mutated the middle 8th yet again 3- the left-right alternating 'wheezing breath' in the ending credits. What's that about?

I agree. Also the reverb is way too strong, it lacks punch and crispness. Sounds like it's being played through a Bluetooth speaker in an empty hall. The mix is shockingly bad honestly.

Personally I disagree. Unlike Jodie’s theme, i can actually hear the bass and melody together quite nicely. Also, it feels more adventurous and gets me excited to watch an episode of Doctor Who.

I like Jodie's theme a lot and it fits a darker more sci-fi theme ... but I also really like this one because it's exciting and adventurous, more light-hearted. I'm glad we got both. And yeah, I think visually Jodie's theme was weirder and cooler but the lack of Tardis was a shame. Excited to see what comes next though :)
