Did you know that the 12th Doctor's title sequence was basically created by a fan who put a demo up on KZbin? His name is Billy Hanshaw and you'll see his name in the end credits for the 12th Doctor episodes. I've forgotten what his KZbin name was, it's in my playlisted videos somewhere... Moffat saw the KZbin and got the BBC contractors to make something extremely similar.

There's a certain level of optimism that bypasses envy and heads straight for vomit inducing, and you hit the nail on the head. Given how absolutely god awful the writing and choice of actors are post-Capaldi, I'd be surprised if the BBC decided to continue milking the series for another decade.

It could be argued that there are 3 missing title sequences in this compilation... 1) The Third Doctor title sequence where the opening theme continues rather than repeats the same sequence until fade (Mind of Evil Episode 1, being an example) 2) The Delaware opening titles, as used during a broadcast in Australia and released in error on Episode 2 of Carnival of Monsters and Episode 5 of Frontier in Space of the UK VHS releases. 3) The 'alternate colour' opening title sequence for The Ark in Space (which was a purposeful piece of experimentation by the production team).

Yup agree. They were always changing and experimenting with Pertwee's opening titles, it used to change from one story to the next. Remember watching the 'Carnival' vid when I was younger and always being taken by surprise by the Delaware theme. love it so much 😍

My personal favourite is the Whittaker one. It's abstract, mysterious, the bass drop grabs your attention and it gets you ready for the adventure ahead. Say what you will about said adventures but it's a great title sequence. The runners are are McCoy's titles, Tom Baker's first titles and the Matt Smith first titles

I think the Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker ones were the best. It's trippy, eccentric stuff that we do best. Heath Robinson in some ways, but so effective. The wink that Sylvester McCoy gives is so reassuring, especially after Colin's slightly sinister grin, though lovely Colin was done wrong.

​@@DrWhoFanJ Not the ones I'm talking about. If they're going to include such minor text changes like 9th to 10th Doctor and 14th to 15th Doctor, they should have these which have different visuals. Series 7A (Asylum - Manhattan) has a different colour and logo for each episode. Series 9 and 10 have the blue/silver intro, replacing Series 8's brown one.

@@JJungleJapeson They’re not doing every little change, though; only the major revamps are included here. 14-15 has a complete change in title credits, which is the same total difference as 4-5 and 5-6. The sequences you are mentioning are only minorly different from others already present.

Not only do 4-5-6 all have different faces, but 4's stars are more plentiful, have larger diffraction spikes, and a brighter logo compared to 5. 6 has all the rainbow effects and the curved purple logo. I would say these have more in common with the Series 7A changes, at least there is some fun visual variety. Just a shame because it would make "All Doctor Who Title Sequences" less inaccurate.

Why is the 60th anniversary converted to SDR colour instead of keeping the new HDR colours? For the classic series, some of the upscaling quality here is terrible. 288p quality, using "drop field" effects like a default filter.

I love series 6 the best. Most of the episodes of that season are amazing including the impossible astronaut/day of the moon, the doctor’s wife, a good man goes to war, night terrors, the god complex and the wedding of river song. It had a brilliant story arc and brilliant writing. It was the introduction of my favourite monster (The silence). My favourite doctor, one of my favourite companions. I could talk about for ages. I love it.

There really is just something else about the earliest NuWho openings. I think maybe it's the motion blur that gets applied before the Planet of the Dead variation (I'm guessing there was some reason they decided to go over the original TARDIS but forgot to make it reflective of the vortex around it?) but it just looks so much more real than when you can see every detail perfectly at all times.

I love the very different, more adventurous intros to the first Matt Smith one and the latest one. They both really get the blood pumping and get you ready for the excitement of the episode.😁👏Also, you missed one out, as the one for “Voyage of the Damned” had a different, more raw or pulse-pounding electric guitar intro to the theme (as opposed to the more-orchestral version they then changed to for Series 4).
