The Doctors couldn't just chunk it off the roof to win. They had to throw it at him as part of the game. Toymaker had to have a chance to catch it and miss it in order to actually lose. Also, the banishment was Tennant's prize and Ncuti's prize was the Tardis duplication.

"Stooky Bill" is very real indeed & really was the first thing to ever appear on a television by pioneer Scottish inventor John Logie Baird. As said in the dialogue, John experimented with dolls because no human could withstand the heat generated. Doctor Who is at it's best when taking something real & turning it into a plot point or in this case a sinister plot point 🥰

for me is unbelievable that some fans don't like gays or others LGBT in Doctor Who but forgot about Adric gay, Jack pansexual. Doctor Who always was progressive, is not something new.

It's not that they will reintegrate. It's that 14 holds the guilt and trauma the way he wears half the clothes. 15 starts with none of it. 14 now gets to retire. Maybe he will become the Curator we saw 10 years ago. But he gets to heal so 15 doesn't have to. Rehab out of order.

Thanks for pronouncing Ncuti's name. I admit I am a bit shocked by how many reviewers and reactors are just not even trying, especially because it isn't a hard name to pronounce. I remember one African born actor, a couple years ago, not sure if it was Lupita, saying that, if everyone can pronounce Skåarsgard and Schwarzenegger, than so many professional reporters not even attempting to pronounce the name of most African names has no excuse. It is not like they can't check the pronounce before filminh.

Only if one knows that the Nc is pronounced sh. If one doesn't know then one won't pronounce it properly. In Spanish two Ls are pronounced like a Y, but I don't feel slighted if a non-Spanish speaker pronounces it like two Ls if they don't know.

Firstly love NPH, nobody else could have played this role ! Secondly thank you RTD for giving Tennants doctor a rest. RTD said the new doc would have screens on the wall of the Tardis. FYI look up John Logie Baird the inventor of tv, he did use Stookie Bill puppet as a test before using a human.

Fun fact about Mel. She was actually a computer scientist but was rarely if ever utilized in the show using her skillset. So it is nice to see that she is finally allowed to sit in front of a computer.-

Something I want to note is that Timelords are both the same AND different people when they regenerate or in this case Bi generate witch happened because of the toymakers existence (I consider him a reality bender things are always different around him myths are real that kind of thing due to his personality) So as Bi generation is a myth among time lords it managed to happen here and CANT happen unless the toymaker or another being of comparable power (IE able to play games with god and threats to the multiverse) and with a similar personality is around. As for the TARDIS being made into 2 devices well remember the beginning? the same but different each of the doctors 14 and 15 had 1 win 1 loss against the toymaker. Meaning when the toymaker loses they EACH now have 2 wins 1 loss meaning both will be granted something within the toymakers power. 14 wishes to banish him 15 wishes to make a second TARDIS so 14 can still have one of his own he just dose so in a flashy way. You can tell this is the toymaker because when he hits it it makes the sound of a classic carnival strong man game where you hit a Leaver and ring a bell for a prize in this case a second TARDIS.

The bigeneration could happen cause of the Toymaker (David literally says 'you caused this') the toymaker indicates this too "the game of the time lords' ie he could duplicate them and kill one over and over if he wanted to (but the doctors challenged him before he could kill one of them). Also Ncuti got the undies collared shirt and tie.... meaning David is 100% commando under those trousers ;)

You're close to how I am piecing it together. RTD is a genius. He needed a way to separate the 14th Doctor and all PRIOR Doctors in order to CLOSE this era of Doctor Who. So, From the 1st Doctor to the 14th is DONE and completed. This episode basically sunsets this whole era of Doctor Who and New Who. We went from Doctor Who, to New Who, to now, NEW NEW Who. The 15th Doctor, now FREE of all the burdens of the 1st through the 14th Doctor, is, in all ways, a BRAND-NEW Doctor. I mean come on, they changed Ncuti's Season/Series to ONE, they didn't just do this by accident. They are starting, as much as they can, completely over with the series. I am expecting the Christmas Special to show a NEW Doctor that we have never seen. Free from his past, I think he will play the role, living life to the fullest. I expect a child-like Doctor full of fun, UNTIL, he is pushed. Then I expect Ncuti to really let his acting chops come out to play. That's how I see it. I compete reboot/refresh. A new Doctor as if the show just began. I have a lot of faith in RTD. I hope he places his “commentary” in the right context, or people are going to TEAR IT APART here on KZbin.

Some people are confused on the eventual fate of 14 due to the bigeneration because rtd described it as at that point every doctor did the same but he wasn't very clear on it almost like he's still working it out but I won't complain since I didn't have to repeat losing David again after 14 years

rtd said that "he likes to believe" that the bigeneration happened to every version. it's like his personal headcanon, not something that is actually put in canon. which i think is better, otherwise it'd be way too confusing.

Mel is companion of the 7tth and 8th Doctor. She is a computer specialist, but in the 1980s they didn't do much computer stuff with her character; she did the screaming and the running.

14th will (most likely) not regenerate into 15, 15 already exists, 15 is fine through timey wimey wibbly wobbly stuff, they are both the Doctor and he healing himself, allowing 15 to be free of guilt and pain.

Since cheating isn't allowed I assume just straight up throwing it off the roof in an opposite direction wouldn't be an option, same reason I assume the toymaker didn't use his powers to dive off the building after the ball, it would be cheating.

Personally, this made me fully happy... and I couldn't have wished for a better outcome. No one deserves this chance to heal more than 10/14. David is a legacy that we are lucky to have... and I hope he remains for as long as possible. Until it's explained otherwise, this is the way I'm looking at it... the bi-regeneration is like a closed loop. 14 was meant to regenerate into 15 down the road. But because the Toymaker triggered it too early... 15 was pulled from a future point to 'fix' the premature regeneration. (Because 15 can't be healed, if 14 doesn't heal.) Eventually, 14 will regenerate into 15 as it was meant to happen... and that will be 15's past beginnings.

I believe the 14th Doctor's Tardis is fully working but won't take him to dangerous places anymore, where the Doctor would be needed to fix things. Because that's the 15th Doctor's job now. Instead this Tardis is now a tool to help 14 heal his traumas and live an "easy" life by taking him on vacations. I also believe that, when the 14th Doctor dies (presumably of old age), that he won't regenerate anymore, because he already did with the Bi-Generation. Which is why 15 is already free from trauma.

I imagine that 14 will still regenerate into 15 later but after his healing and rest and when he does he will be transported as 15 to the events of the Giggle to give 14 the same advice and such to complete the loop.

Always a joy watching your reactions. I watched them starting with Good Omens and have continued on to these. David Tennant was the first doctor I watched and will ALWAYS be my Doctor, so I love all of his iterations. I thought this specials were great and I must say the bi-generation and allowing The Doctor to rest almost ended me and healed me from all the trauma of watching 10 regenerate. I thought NPH was magnificent as The Toymaker, love that Donna also got a happy ending. I'm looking forward to see your reactions to the new series.

I liked Martha, more than I like Donna 10. I loved 10, but Donna was sometimes annoying. I agree about Rose. I liked Amy too. Oh, yes, Bill! I really liked Bill.

It’s hard to pick a favorite Doctor, because the Companions and stories influence it too. I didn’t mind 9, maybe because he was the first one I watched. I do like 10/14 because David is so likeable. 11 was good because of Amy. 12 was good because of Bill and I liked the storylines. I liked 13, and her companions were decent. Just wish they gave her more time. I’m excited for Ncuti!

Yeah, I'm viewing the Regen the same way as you. The dialogue clues support it I feel. It's assisted by reality not really following reality rules due to the Toymaker so he caused a premature Regen so Ncuti popped out how in the persona he would have if no toy maker intervention had happened.

Show or not as a character the Doctor is allowed to rest. Just cause we want a show he is alowed to rest and retire. Given his long life and all the trauma hes been through and hes stated he doesn't know how to stop. So I take this as 14th doctor gets to rehab and recover from his trauma with his best friend and his new family. Maybe the toymakers effect lastes just long enough to allow him to bigenerate so that he can deal with his trauma and still go out and play more. 15 even stated after everything settled back down. The he is fine or ok because 14 fixed himself. I take that as once reality got to go back to its rules it made it so that the as 14 recovers his time line feeding into 15 allwed him to have 15 be stable due to the efforts of 14. As he stated as Time Lords we are doing Rehab in the wrong order. Like River and the doctor meeting in the wrong direction.

Doctor Who RIP they Bring back the most popular Doctor to boost ratings after the awful 13th Doctor, so people would welcome the actual new Doctor has monumentally backfired Who/Whom is a Ratings and Audience FAILURE!! This is so hard. On the one hand, I agree with not giving this stuff attention. Whether positive or negative, attention is what they want. On the other hand, how can we let them keep destroying everything we love? It’s incredibly saddening to see such an impactful and long running show go down in flames like this… I still remember that Van Gogh episode. That’s how you represent historical figures. the moment he hired Gatwa, and then pretending Davros needed to be changed because of the history of the disabled being depicted as evil which is a lie I knew Davies was more interested in getting back at fans who hated Chibnall's era, more than actually making a good
