The fan who inspired the TARDIS ramp is Tharries and he has a channel on YT. The Doctor Who production team call it the Tharries Ramp on set. I’ve been following his channel for a while and I love that he’s forever a part of the history of the show ❤️
@MoviesWithMarty11 ай бұрын
YESSS! I thought it was!!! Dang, I didn't realise it actually was him that inspired it. Tharries is lovely. I regularly watch his videos (if it's not oing to spoil anything haha) It's cool that they call it that. I do too. The fact that RTD knew who he was I think secures his place in the Whonivers. Thanks for watching Ginja!

Melanie was wrong when she claimed to be the Doctor’s first red-headed companion (Donna: “I wasn’t the first red head?” Mel: “No. That was me.”) But Vislor Turlough, companion to the 5th Doctor had red hair before her. Not that Mel would’ve known. The Doctor doesn’t keep a photo album or talk about his prior companions, generally. I just feel the need to remember and acknowledge actor Mark Strickson’s contribution to Doctor Who.

correct answer to "Take away the toys. Who am I?" the most brilliant man in the universe
@mikemiller843011 ай бұрын
My thoughts is regeneration was not supposed to happen yet, and they said that the toymaker hitting them with the laser caused it and that also triggered the bi-generation. But this split is mostly for tenants doctor to take a breather so he can become the happy doctor that chuti is. And I think by the time chuti is done the two of them will have already recombined

FYI in the original episode with the Toymaker the Doc wins by impersonating the Toymaker vocally - hence the Toymaker keeps changing his accent in this one! Also i'm legit upset Tennant drew and 8 and not a TEN... TENnant aka Doctor #10 like CMON writers LOL Lastly.... David is commando once Ncuti shows up :D

Apparently Russell said that the bigeneration affected all previous regenerations too, which can explain how there are older Doctors travelling around.
@MoviesWithMarty11 ай бұрын
Eeek! Did it? Hmm, I wonder what that means now. It would explain it, as it did confuse me a little, but I thought it was just meant to be Doctor's in this kind of suspended limbo. Interesting that Russell said that though. Thanks for letting me know Miggy mate!

One last thought on this special:. I think Donna works for UNIT now. .
@MoviesWithMarty11 ай бұрын
Ooh, I love that idea! That would make sense too, as I think in the preview for the next series, we see a quick shot of Rose Temple-Noble in what appears to be the UNIT building... I may be wrong though. Thanks for watching!
@EndymionDeVere11 ай бұрын
@@MoviesWithMarty Good catch, Marty. i just rewatched the preview and I am like 99.999 % certain that that is in fact Rose Temple-Noble in the UNIT tower. I hadn’t noticed that previously. That’s brilliant. UNiT is the perfect way to have these characters (including Tenant’s Doctor) able to make the occasional appearance throughout the series without undermining Ncuti’s tenure as the Doctor.
@HuntingViolets10 ай бұрын
@@MoviesWithMarty According to Sean Temple, isn't she just Rose Noble? He said he wasn't going to win that or something like it when the Doctor was in his cab?

I really love Neil Patrick Harris’s performance in this episode. He gives off this really sinister energy while being camp all of the time. It really makes you feel like the Toymaker really is this uber-powerful cosmic being from another reality. Definitely one of the best performances of the 2023 specials!

People online were expressing that the Toymaker's dance with the Doctor and the Doctor's offer to go away with him were romantic, but I didn't get that from that at all once I saw the episode. The Doctor seemed to be offering as a sacrifice.

My theory is that when 14 has been settling for a long time he will regenerate into 15 and get pulled to the moment of the bi-generation and thats why 15 is so free of trauma.

My favorite part was see Mel because she brought the celebration to the sixtieth anniversary. A good and crazy episode. Tennant's Doctor retiring (for a while at least) acts a nice bookend for the Classic and 'Revival' eras of the show. The bi-generation has certainly got much of the fandom befuddled too. The whole pre-bi-generation scene was loaded full of call backs but I won't spoil anything. As someone who has watched the show for nearly fifty years and seen most episodes several times, I love it when a reactor just beginning their journey through Classic Who views a new episode with a ton of references. They don't mean much to the reactor but makes me feel like River Song, the curator or someone else with future knowledge. I know the journey you have ahead and look forward to watching you experiencing it for the first time. The Doctor must feel the same way when companions remind them how amazing the universe actually is.

This is great episode I'll go on some of the positives I thought Neil Patrick Harris did a terrific job as The Toymaker I also loved the little flashbacks added in of the original Toymaker and The First Doctor (William Hartnell) as well I love the bigger budget that's gone into this particulary the UNIT tower (even thought it suppose to be a top secret organization) I love the bit where Donna fights off the dolls and goes "I'm Donna your going to be a gonna" loved that bit, I was abit hesitant about Mel Bush returning since she's one of my least favourite companions during her tenure because all she did was scream but in this I will say they written her character better here. On a few negatives I did not like the bigeneration they should had just went with the tradition to have David's Doctor (14) change into Gatwa (15) rather than the split regeneration which felt like abit of a cop-out to me because I feel David Tennant gets too much special treatment it treats it as if David is seperate from all the other Doctor their all the same person so it kind of undermines all the other Doctors I don't ever recall Tom Baker getting the special treatment and he was one of the most popular as well and longest serving out of all of them plus the fact it will overshadow Ncuti's Doctor and in my opinion I don't think that's the best way to introduce your new star I mean I'm happy as a one-off new idea but I hope it's not made a habit of because it would take the stakes and consequences away and it would just become lazy writing after awhile and I thought giving him a double TARDIS was abit much but it is what it is David was great for his time but I'm more than ready to move onto the Ncuti Gatwa era now. The TARDIS 15 takes is the original TARDIS the one Tennant's got is the copy. Overall great episode just didn't like the bigeneration.
