Does capture quite well the sophistication and subtlety of 1970s ITV and, of course, the great trilogy of On The Buses, Mutiny On The Buses and Holiday On The Buses. They say that this was the inspiration for Krzysztof Kieślowski's "Trois Couleurs" trilogy but the latter is not a patch on the original. Indeed, there's barely a pair of hot pants or kneelength white platform boots to be seen. A sad disappointment, even if Blakey does make an appearance in Trois Couleurs: Rouge.

although i find this extremely funny, i do think that you have to be careful watching certain 70`s television programmes because for every brilliant comedy like dads army and steptoe and son, there is the likes of mind your language with all its sterotypes of foreign people, the racism in love thy neighbour, and in man about the house there is a gay joke in the first episode, and what with the likes of the black and white minstrel show, pans people and legs and co on top of the pops, the girls not wearing much on the benny hill show, the leggy girls on game shows, the gay insults on it aight half hot mum, the dick emery show, the spike milligan show, sometimes you do have to wonder how we survived the 70`s.

A bit weird , the 1970s were a time of change ,and attitudes were cringeworthy, at best ,yet Dick Emery and many other comic performers were funny, and represented ever type even ,bigots as idiots if you look at on the busses ,yes it was sexist ,at times ,but stan and Jack did not always get their ways with the ladies, there were tough ladies back then and well ,and there were ethnic groups in 70s sit coms ,played by black and asian people, a lot of left wing comedians took the Micky out of racists as well ,as the right out of minorities, alf Garnett, was Warren Mitchell playing a bigot ,who was hilarious, and often made to look stupid, steptoe and son ,never racist, hilarious, about middle aged son and his father and their rag and bone yard,,the 1970s had its faults true, but it brought about a lot of change in society, and ,its best remembered as a hilariously odd and interesting period I love the comedy of the 1970s ,,!😂
