A Doctor Who episode in WALES? Preposterous. That'll never catch on.

She deserved to be a full companion. Mel was great and I’m glad we ended up getting Ace instead, by Ray was really nice and I thought it was kinda sad how her story just ends with the man she likes running off with his own alien dream girl and she’s stuck with the consolation prize of getting his bike. I always thought with Doctor who classic and new, far too many companions are from present day Britain. We desperately need new companions from the past or alien planets or the future or even just a different country. Peri & Tegan are the only ones I can think of that aren’t from the UK. Susan, Romana, Adric, Nyssa, Turlough & Nardole are the only ones from other planets. Vicki, Steven, Zoe & Leela are the only ones from the future. Jamie & Victoria and the only ones from the past. Meanwhile there have been 23 companions from modern day Britain. Most of which are specifically from London.

Ray was intended to be the companion but the actress turned down the role as full time companion. :( Ace worked out despite the turmoil.

i love the cliffhangers from this series for some reason where the doctor says i think i may have gone a little too far. and the richard briers 1 where he says this is the great architect then he says kill him.

I became a fully fledged fan of Doctor Who with this series and started reading Doctor Who Magazine. I'd seen the 5th Doctor and vaguely some of the 6th but for me McCoy was my Doctor. I recorded it for my Dad to watch - so it has a personal side to it. If it weren't my Dad I'd never have started watching regularly. The 7th was the promise of renewed ambition and confidence. I feel, in hind sight, that his era was 90s Who trying to break free of both the 80s small vision and the snobbery of the BBC itself. The sad truth? Never has the BBC ever realised how lucky it is to have Doctor Who as a brand and leader of drama. A bigger reflection of this country and the UK.

Wonder if Sylvester McCoy was making a jab at Colin Baker for being sacked?
@rnw27392 жыл бұрын
If he was then he's a simpleton. Colin wasn't sacked due to poor performance (Gawd knows he leaves that Scottish mong for dust), it was pure victimisation by Michael Grade who had a thing for Liza Goddard, Colins ex wife. They divorced acrimoniously and that dirty front wheel skid took away the job Colin loved so much as revenge. What the fuck their divorce had to do with that snivelling 4 by 2, no one knows.

Least favorite Doctor but he’s a hell of a lot better than the new series copycat Doctors who stole from them.
