Basically it's a joke about how the British sent convicts to Australia. So all Australians now apparently are convicts. The joke stops being funny when you actually learn a bit more about the history. Like that there was an indigenous population here that was treated like less-than-human, that a lot of the convicts sent here were sent for small crimes like stealing food they needed to survive, that some rich folk came here willingly and bought up all the land and loads of other reasons.

Her getting upset, all because several months later some other production group did happen to choose the continuation of the show, is just petty and juvenile. She's basically admitted that the show that actually made her famous in several countries, is only worthy of her time so as long as it's coming to an end. Otherwise, she has no time for the show or anything to do with it. And that just oozes arrogance.

I'm a bit sad that the actor who plays Thorfin may never get to expand his character the way that Laurence Rickard/Rogh has. I mean, Rogh can speak English, and French, and Russian, and the language that he learned from his mother, at least. Probably he has also learned to speak Celtic, Angle, Saxon, and possibly Roman. Thorfin should be able to speak Norwegian, and whatever language Sassapis' tribe spoke, in addition to English. But he is nowhere near the age of Rogh, yet, so he doesn't live with the fear that one day he will be all alone again, the last ghost..
