@@AI_and_I_Offical Series 3 was in 2007. Are you thinking of season 3 of the Classic Series which was in 1965? Genuinely not sure what series 3 you think was in the 80s. That would be season 18 at a minimum. Edit: also generally the new series goes by Series 1, 2, 3, etc, and the classic series goes by Season 1, 2, 3 etc.. If someone says “series 3” and not “season 3,” they’re probably talking about New Who.

Fun fact about the sonic screwdriver: producer John Nathan Turner, who was in charge of the show throughout nearly the entirety of the 1980's, _hated_ the sonic screwdriver. He thought that it was too much of a convenient plot device that got the Doctor out of tough situations with minimal effort. So one of the first things he did after Tom Baker left the show and a new Doctor came in was have the sonic screwdriver get destroyed. After that, the Doctor just sort of never got around to building another sonic screwdriver and remained without right up until the show's cancellation in 1989. Funny thing is that compared to the modern show, the Doctor really didn't use the sonic screwdriver for very much. Aside from one notable occasion when the Third Doctor used it to ignite swamp gas, the Doctor mostly just used the sonic screwdriver to open doors and tinker with machines. It was never anywhere near as versatile as it is in the new series. Had John Nathan Turner lived to see the show's revival in 2005, I can only imagine how hard he'd cringe at its excessive use.

a good doctor who game could easily be made. put in watchdogs style hacking mechanics, large explorable levels which can be visited in any order, a flyable tardis which also serves as a hub world, and a lives system where the player regenerates after taking too much damage.

I think keep the Tardis stuff and the nonlinear level design and make it a verry short game. You know what I mean though. Make it more of an rpg with light puzzle elements.

Finding people who could do proper level design, modeling, scripting, etc, were one in a million. Everyone was an idea guy. Not considering the huge undertaking of their ideas. There's this thing called "feature creep." Every idea has to be seriously considered in its fullest context.

I remember I used to play this on the Wii and TBH, I have a LOT of nostalgia for this game! The soundtracks that would keep repeating made me super nostalgic when watching re-runs of Eccleston and Tennant (9 and 10) and playing it when Series 6 was just starting to air. It was like the adventures you got to see during the events of Series 5 while you'd wait for Series 6. It was Summer of 2010 from what I can remember. I would wake up every morning before everyone else and turn on my Wii, and I think everyone can agree that the Wii is the superior console of the 2000s. So much memories!! When The music would go out for a couple seconds before looping back around, you'd get this space ambience which made the ship feel so large and empty, and mysterious. Exploring the abandoned bedrooms and quarters of this ship was quite the experience. Only annoying thing I remember from this game was those awful crystal droids you'd have to meet to recharge the sonic with the horrible nunchuck controls. Those sensors you'd have to avoid so they wouldn't "TAKE COVER!!" was pitiful. Other than that, for me personally it was a pretty solid experience! Heaps of memories! To me this was my Doctor Who game. Pretty much the first and only game I played where I could be The Doctor (before the chaos me and my friends had when playing GMOD). Ps: It was really cool how they got the ACTUAL PEOPLE to play their respective roles of The Doctor and Amy
