I'm glad you enjoyed the episode! I was also surprised how well executed the babies were despite the fact they obviously can't be directed to act, lol. I think the progress of technology and editing software helped a lot from the examples we've seen the past. This is such a silly episode. I hadn't realized since I wasn't as invested in the show but the Thirteenth Doctor's stories were really angsty, especially towards the end. The show really feels like it wants to be very fun and whimsical again and not take itself too seriously, and I love it. I do hope we get some more dramatic and quieter moments again later on though, When Ruby gets scanned it reminds me a lot of how Eleven scanned Amy and Clara trying to figure out their mysteries so I think it's interesting how this series is so RTD but changed the story arc to be a bit more like Moffat in that regard.

Captain Poppy seemed to do a decent job, but that might have just been Gatwa's chemistry (and improv skills) with babies, lol.

12:09 I didn't get this bit either, I feel like ruby saying 'that's what you do, you save them all' is such a weird line, I don't know how that's meant to change her view of the bogeyman. but I guess you could put it down to the fact that she isn't a killer at heart.

Finally I found a review pleasant to listen to, It was nice hearing someone with such bright outlook on the stuff at hand, pretty refreshing, when all the others just spit so much negativity, of course those 2 episodes aren't perfect far from it actually, but they still in my opinion feel like something belonging in Whoniverse. In other words you got yourself a new subscriber.

Your such a lovely man 🙂 I love watching ur reactions because ur always so genuine, and I can feel the emotion of a man who's been there since the beginning and hasn't stopped being a fan since.

@aliceplaysreactions64 😁 closer to the beginning than me mate, and I agree those "non named people" are being so disrespectful for no reason. I enjoyed this episode, granted its not perfect but what first episode of a season has ever been amazing from get go,other than the eleventh hour

Exactly Not every episode can be Blink or Midnight. Most are going to be divisive to some degree, but it can still be enjoyable, which this was.

The Doctor: "There's no such thing as monsters..." Conveniently forgets about the Thing in the pit, the Daleks, The Master... and how he's often believed himself. I really hope the "pushing the button" becomes this Doctor's thing with Ruby repeatedly having to scold him like a child (as an older sister would) not to do it - and hopefully at least once him acting a bit like a brat for not getting to press it. I kinda wish The Doctor had lied and suggested that the snow was just a broken cooling unit, and the expositioned while alone with the bogeyman about his real concern. The story isn't an allegory of legal red tape, it's a commentary on the United States bans on abortion. They won't take care of the babies after they are born, but make it illegal to terminate the pregnancy, as well as the discussions in the UK on the subject.

Also, wanted to say, you are one of the few reactors to the series I enjoy watching cause it nice to see people enjoying the show, not complain all the time...is ok to be, I didnt care for this or that,...is normal. As for the Bi-reGeneration, I just figured it was cause being in presence of the Toymaker, cause the impossible is made possible, an Dr15 said Bi regeneration was not possible. or something like that, so feel that was a one time rare event.

I just tend to ignore those people, who spout Homophobic, Transphobic, etc. ideas. Paying attention to those is just not worth it. Giving them the time of day to even get mentioned is wrong. No attention given to them is the best way to deal with them.

Soon as I got on KZbin, naturally all these hate videos for Dr Who. I watched all up the episode 3, (or 4, if Church on Ruby Road is considered episode 1) claiming the show is dead, dying, a joke, yada yada, well, i wont even give them a view, cause I really enjoyed the season/series so far. People that started complaining after Dr 12 left, I dunno, dnt feel are real Who fans, or not the fans they protest to be. And i dont mean being criticial, I meaning no matter what the episode, they have to find something to complain about to justify their distain for the show or that Doctor.

Yes!! So glad to get your reactions on these. Long term fan of your videos. Thanks for your comments on the ‘accepted’ hate, bigotry and prejudices out there by so many idiots who call themselves fans. They aren’t. Quite right too. It’s beyond me. I avoid all such negativity and look for the bubble of positivity myself. I agree with you on the ep. Loved it. A lot of mad fun. Nice introduction.

One of the only good things to come out of the negativity around this show at the moment is that I'm better able to curate my KZbin feed. So many channels I've been able to click 'Do Not Recommend Channel' on, just based on the thumbnail. Great reaction. Personally, I wasn't very keen on this episode. Ncuti and Millie were great, but the plot felt very 'been here, done this before' and none of the humour landed for me. The next episode is much more my cup of tea though.

I agree thumbnails can be a dead giveaway lol

That negativity has only come about in the last few years because the show has become so bad. If there's negativity, it's for a very good reason. I have given up on this show after having been a huge fan for fifty years. From what I've seen of these first two episodes they are a total embarrassment.

We are not talking about bad reviews and genuine criticism. We are talking about bigotry which is NOT OK.
@arch10174 ай бұрын
@@Trev359 If you don't enjoy the show anymore, then that's completely valid. In the same way that lots of people didn't like the Capaldi era and stopped watching, or the Whittaker era (where, I admit, I had major issues with the writing but just about stuck with it). It happens, and it's a matter of personal preference. That's not the sort of criticism we're talking about.
