I think you are the only reaction I've seen so far who totally understands the context of the kiss. Yes, the Doctor was interested in Rogue, just as he was with Mdme Du Pompadour, and in both instances, seemingly enjoyed the romantic notion, but he wasn't the instigator in either case. The Doctor hasn't ever been celibate, despite everyone wanting him to be, it's just that TV in the 20th Century was a very different time. I mean most married couples were shown to sleep in separate beds, and kisses were typically kept to a quick peck, and that's it.

I agree that every season has an episode that is a soaring high and a terribly low, for instance to me 73 Yards is a 3/10 and this episode is a 9/10. I really enjoyed this episode and it's so far my favourite of the series, after all the experimental episodes it's a breath of fresh air to have something that feels like a "classic" new who episode, like this would 100% fit in as a 10th Doctor story and no one would bat an eye. As for the Doctor kissing people, I only really care if it's a companion as I do not enjoy that sort of relationship dynamic and the age gaps can make it feel extra iffy but if they're kissing a one off character or a character that themselves is more on an equal footing to the Doctor I don't have an issue. So 10 kissing Rose is a no for but 10 kissing madame de pompadour is fine with me. As for the Doctors sexuality I personally think that each regeneration has it's own sexuality, Some I see as gay (2nd Doctor) some as bi/pan (8th Doctor) some as straight (3rd Doctor) and some as completely asexual (4th Doctor). I really hate the rise in bigotry that's occurred over the past 7 years or so and unfortunately it seems to be getting worse not better

'What did you make of Rogue mentioning "the new boss?" Ruby dance-fighting like Karen Gillan in Jumanji, only Karen was much funnier. What did you think of them using modern songs arranged classically for the dancing? How about Kylie Minogue appearing now both as an actor playing a character and as a real singer played by the Doctor.

If I may, the popular songs remixed as classical music is a deliberate nod to Bridgerton who have been doing this on all of their seasons so far. As a fan of both shows that made me smile but I can also see how not everyone would be a fan, especially if they don’t see it as an amusing Easter egg type thing.

@@daffy8995 I think it was meant to be an extra layer to the whole “cosplaying” as Bridgerton characters, they were really trying to re-enact the show rather than the historical time. But yes, I have seen that a lot of people who haven’t seen Bridgerton found it odd and those who have went “ah, I see what you did there!”

The Doctor might have been the "kissee" not the kisser, but he was clearly horny for Rogue, despite the fact that they'd only just met! I've never seen the Doctor behave like this before, and - gotta be honest - I'd rather not see it again. I'm not remotely a hater, by the way; it's just that I think the hero falling instantly in lust with a complete stranger isn't a good example for a family show to set.

Not a hater either. I dd agree at time of recording and it was a bit in ya face, but madame de pompadour. .. was a bit overly horns there but framed in a more romantic way.

No crap episodes? In my opinion "Space Babies" is a strong contender for worst Dr Who episode ever. "The Devil's Chord" was just about watchable. The rest of the run has been good to excellent. "Rogue" was standard Dr Who - fun while it was on but hardly memorable.

I suppose it depends on what you want from an episode. IMO there's been no episodes that I've disliked this season, but of course there always has to be a worst episode.

This season has been pretty consistent for me, space babies is the only one that I really dislike I actually liked devils chord I feel you’re being a tad harsh on the episode
