I think "shitting hell, they were right!" is what just about everyone was thinking in that moment. I personally laughed out loud with glee, lol. But as convinced as I was that it was going to be Sutekh, I just didn't expect the "Sue Tech" bit to actually be right (though I did become heavily suspicious when she said "call me Sue, everyone does). I was utterly blown away.

I think Flood is a Time Lord. Ncuti said to Ruby that Time Lords change their faces when they are dying or when they want to “hide away”. Then when Flood comes into the apartment she hangs up her coat and says “she’s always hiding away”.

Maybe it could fit, on my initial watch I thought they were referencing the Master as they were talking about people using alien tech to infiltrate earth. He is the most famous alien that often uses alien tech to threaten earth who has escaped unit and essentially humiliated them many times.

Does the 'memory' of that night keep changing because we're dealing with an Old Ruby kind of entity, and they keep observing it from a different position? Is that why it skips past them in the Time Window? (I've literally only just noticed that while watching this reaction, it's not based on anything else, but I very much doubt a distance that specific would be mentioned by coincidence.)

I've got to say as i've just noticed your reviews (and this may come across as a one track view) but its really refreshing to see someone of your generation enjoying Doctor Who and not needing to unnecessaryily dunk on the episodes for pointless reasons and trashing them for ""woke"" reasons or diversity casting. Shouldn't need to be said, but like i said its just a genuine joy to see you enjoying the episodes and having so many postive things to say about them, im fully open to the idea that if someone doesn't like something its completely fair to criticise but (i think you might know the usual suspects who i mean 😅) some people just use this show and reaction/review content in order to spread their own hateful political views and opinions ect. and unfortuantely it spreads like wildfire and is all over this sight and social media so i cant help but notice it. This was SUCH A GOOD EPISODE! Exactly what was needed for Who, someone old whilst also being something new. No Daleks, No cybermen, no Master - A deep cut for classic who fans whilst also bringing a fresh villain for new and old fans alike. Really good stuff!

Interesting that The Vlinx has been sitting there like a visual echo of the seated and entrapped Sutekh in The Pyramids of mars all the time. Another visual echo was Mrs Flood seated with the blanket over her knees in The Church on Ruby Road.

Lenny Rush was originally cast as the voice of Eric in space babies, but was then recast for this finale. Not sure if a space opened due to Shirley Ann Binghams unavailability or something, as it was a little strange introducing her in the 60th specials just to be immediately replaced the following season/series. Although maybe, your alternative reality/dimension could explain the sudden recasting.

I was shouting Sue Tech! Sutekh before the reveal.. Carole Ann Ford is around, doing Big Finish Audios. I can't imagine they wouldn't bring her in for an episode or two if they were going to have Susan return. One theory I had was Ruby could be Susan hidden with a chameleon arch and Mrs. Flood is her companion. After this, I am back to Ruby is a goddess, as so many myths include abandoned children of gods. She could be one of the good ones. (Like the Good Witch of the North... who can make it snow.) I am a little curious about the fact the Doctor let Ruby's mom into UNIT without a security check against Kate's wishes. Harriet mentions the Reprobate, the God of Spite and in 73 Yards they talked about the Spiteful One and I said that I thought that was who was messing with Ruby. Thus, so far, this season, of the ones she mentioned that we have not seen are the Trickster, Mara, or Malice, Mischief & Misery. I thought Trickster might have trapped them in an alternate reality and they were playing out the adventures of Ruby Sunday in the form of a tv show.

Well, who is Mrs. Flood? That's the big question. So, what do we know about her? 1. She knows what a Tardis is and consequently has to be aware off what a Timelord is as well. 2. She specifically recognized the Doctors' Tardis as a Tardis, meaning she has to know about the Doctor as well. 3. She is not one of the Doctors' former companions as he would have recognized her as such. 4. She is not Ruby from the future as we have seen Ruby from the future. 5. She knows about Sutekh and his arrival. 6. She gave Ruby's grandmother a warning but, as far as we have seen, did not harm her. 7. She said she is hiding herself away. From whom? If she were a member of the pantheon she wouldn't have a reason to do so. So, does she hide from the pantheon? 8. She encouraged Ruby to enter the Tardis. 9. She just so happens to live close to Ruby Sunday. 10. Her name is not Arbinger. So it is unlikely for her to be another harbinger of a god. Also, Sutekh is identical with the old egyptian god Set..... who just so happened to murder another god named Osiris, who was his brother and at the same time husband to his sister Aset (or Isis, if you prefer the more well-known greek// pronounciation). When Aset learned of the death of her husband she cried, causing the Nile-FLOOD which was the beginning of all life.

I have some thoughts, have no idea how they fit in but anyway. When Susan says "Did you think I was family Doctor" she really sounds like Madame Kovarian. Also if Mrs Floods first name is Carol it´s the same as River Song. I don´t think she is evil and her behavior would fit River. And her mum dying of an ulcer "when she wasn´t looking" could be a hint of the angels taking Amy ( wound/rift in time ).

Everything points to River, but it´s probobly RTD messing with us. AND we then also have two women running around in the universe that would have the means to do all this ( hide themselves etc and one being Mrs Flood and the other the woman in a cloak ) and that is Clara and Ashildr. Ashildr specifically whos name means "battle the gods". So Ashildr and Clara. Or, River and Amy? Because the Flux messing with time could have made it possible for Amy and River to connect again. But I am probobly totally wrong about all this. So happy though that RTD has woke my love for Doctor Who again. Love this season.

I'm hoping that at the end of next episode The Doctor will take this cue to visit Susan and we'll get a short scene with Carol Ann Ford It's cool they were able to bring back the original voice actor, Gabriel Woolf, as Sutekh. They also referenced his other more recent Who role as The Beast in The Satan Pit. I'm kind of hoping Mrs Flood is someone like the Rani. She was a big figure in Mel's time after all. Plus she was all into evil biology and Ruby is somehow not related to anyone? Who knows really, it's Russell after all

I could see The trickster being Ruby's parent, and maybe he left her there to bait the Doctor into stopping Sutekh from killing the universe. (can't cause chaos if everyone is dead) I could also see one of the "twists" being that Mrs. Flood is actually Susan and/or Ruby's mother.

I feel like Mrs. Flood knows what was going to happen, but that she's there as a protective measure somehow. Also, I wonder if Sutekh arrived in Wild Blue Yonder since that was the first time we saw Susan Twist's character and the first time we heard that groaning sound from the TARDIS. Perhaps her arrived the same way The Toymaker did, through the thin edge of the universe being let in by the game. And I think maybe Ruby's origins are unconnected to this plot perhaps? Not sure. And yeah, if we see Susan again, I would hope it's Carol Anne Ford while she's still around. I'm always like, hey DW, give more actors in while they can still like run and stuff! That's why I'm still hoping for that UNIT spin-off, and have it have a rotating cast of Modern and Classic companions whenever they can get them. Fingers crossed. I'm hoping that all this recent UNIT stuff may be like a back-door pilot kind of situation. Though I would also like it if they bring in some UNIT characters that they've introduced in the Big Finish audios. Also, apparently Luke Smith and his bf have been working for UNIT, so, I'd like to see them!

It's interesting that that you wondered whether Morris was actually 13, but what bothered and frankly irritated me was the very idea that an international security/intelligence organisation like UNIT would have a 13 year-old scientific adviser in the first place. I know part of RTD's mission is to attract a younger audience, but this was beyond the pale. If Morris had been a computer prodigy it wouldn't have been so much of a stretch... but _scientific adviser?_ Poor Liz Shaw must be spinning in her grave. Still, I agree that Lenny Rush gave an assured and impressive performance, and I very much enjoyed the episode overall. Can't wait for next week!

Russell likes to team up two enemies (Daleks and Cybermen, Master and Toclofane). So will we get something more in the next Ep? Maybe there is room for a Rani, Meddler, Master or Valeyard or something. Re: Mrs Flood, I don’t think she didn’t necessarily not know what a TARDIS was from the off, more she wasn’t happy to see a police box and hadn’t seen one for fifty years. It was then revealed to be the TARDIS, which she knew about. So a subtle but maybe relevant difference?

The only thing I found a bit meh was the design for sutekh. The harbinger and zombie Susan looked so great and the effects had been outstanding. Sutekh just looks like a giant cgi rat imo, I went and looked up his original design and it was so much more creepy I wish they’d gone more hieroglyphic style jackals head like you see I’m sculptures but with real teeth and moving etc other than that I LOVED the episode

I’m still holding out for Ms Flood being the Rani. I somehow think they got the rights to use the character since they mentioned her. She had a tardis blue door, her house number is #4, there’s four letters in Rani. He joked the picture of the hand picking up the tooth was called The Ranis Hand. Ms Flood says she hides away right after the doctor explained hiding away as part of regeneration. I also swore I saw one of her teeth glimmer at one point too. Her attitude towards Cherry was very Rani attitude to me. She also said her mom passed when she “wasn’t looking”.

I really think it's a misdirect; you can read her tea and storms comments as sad rather than threatening. I think she's going to turn out to be an ally of some sort. Just imagine those lines delivered by Mary Tamm or Lala Ward... to pick two entirely random examples.
