When I have rewatched this episode I noticed that the Dalek theme music starts before the reveal and ramps up in the background. Be glad you dont have to wait a week for the conclusion! Also just as you were talking about the Doctor's family, his very first companion was his granddaughter Susan so him having a family has been known since the very beginning

I love the enitire reveal sequence at the end! "The sphere is not ours" "Oh fuuuuuu--...."!!!

Great twist! I don't know why seeing the Daleks made me smile, but they sure did, lol.

@@RGFamReacts One of the things the revived series did REALLY well was the reintroduction of the Daleks. Obviously,to fans of the Classic series they were iconic (my mother never ceases to remind me that,when I was a child,I used to wander round pointing at people and yelling 'exterminate!'); but it's a tribute to the writers of the revived series that the Daleks became absolutely as iconic,so very quickly.

@@iansmith4023 They did do a fantastic job, both with the writing and the design work. Nicholas Briggs deserves credit for the voice work, too, because he does have to act (especially in that first episode) and without him they wouldn't have the personality they have.

I knew you'd "enjoy" this episode! 😜 The Doctor was a grandfather in the original 1963 series, and there's a hint in "The Empty Child" (Series 1) that he had been a father and a grandfather once. "Ghostbusters" was a huge hit in the UK back in the day. 👻 One of my favourite DW episodes. The build-up to that cliffhanger is handled really well.

The Daleks was such a huge twist, wasn't expecting that at all! I mean this episode literally has it all, Daleks, Cybermen, Jackie, Mickey, what more could you want?

This is a TV series built around the concept of change - it wouldn't have lasted 60 years otherwise! Obviously some changes are not as popular as others...but you'll grow used to them :)

I'm sure I will. I got over the first Doctor surprisingly quickly. Not sure I'll be able to get over Rose and her whole clan as quickly. But with time, I'm sure I will.

That time when you're trying to be mad at a show because they gonna kill off your favorite character, but the episode is still a lot of fun.....so conflicted, hahahahahaha
