The drumb beat out of the lonely bar scene is very progressive and matches the triple horn response. The words are unique suggesting conflict of conscious behavior and struggle to do something better. I like the song.

It’s a damn shame there’s no video to go with this song
@Britton_Thompson19 күн бұрын
No, it's better in the theater of the individual listener's mind because it allows them to put it together in a way that better resonates with them internally. As soon as you start trying to film a video for a 10+ min GNR song, it's going to get overinflated. Geffen Records would give it a $2M special effects budget; hire a super famous Hollywood megastar to make a brief cameo as one of the doctors working to save Axl's life in the ER scenes; have the band jet set all around the world to a bunch of exotic locations; and have waaaay too many hangers-on & members of their entourage shoved into the video. You know it, and I know it. You know good and damn well that's what would happen in a 10 min GNR music video 😉 P.S: They still kick ass, and they're still the most talented US rock band in history with the highest ceiling of potential.... but they would've absolutely mangled this with a music video! 😉😁

You crippled your sons judgment the moment you said you hated the band! That was not a cool move, dad. You should've kept that to yourself, allowing him his own opinion. Won't watch you again! Bu-bye

Love the honesty. As a black person, I always wonder how white people feel listening to songs with so many n-words.. like do they say the word in their heads? Cause the truth is rap music is made mainly for black Americans. Its only right that you have this opinion about the n-word because the music wasn't made for your ears. I dont get why people are giving you slack for your take

i also typically always despise horns (right after steel guitar), however, Matchbox 20 / Rob has ALWAYS been the exception for me. never minded them whatsoever in a Matchbox song.

Dude on the right really doesn't know what he is talking about. Synth pop is more Depeche Mode or OMD...not the Smiths. And you also didn't understand the lyrics. It'd about getting kicked out of your house and not caring if you died

The composer for the show is Yoko Kanno. She is a legend in Japan generally and in anime, world wide. She once traveled throughout the US. Just to find local jazz clubs. To understand regional jazz styles. She has produced music for some of the most influential anime films and shows. She was so enthusiastic for Cowboy Bebop, she would randomly appear at the studio with new pieces. The creators considered the pieces so good, they would alter much of what they were doing to fit them in, or be inspired to take stories in new directions.
