Doctor Who Reaction! 2x5 - Rise of the Cyberman

Future two-parters in Series 2 are episodes 8/9 and 12/13. The Cybermen were a major antagonist in the classic series, first appearing in the 1960s. Them going around and saying "Delete!" was new with this story, though. Incidentally, in the Series 1 story "Dalek", when Rose and the previous Doctor are exploring the museum right at the beginning of the story, you see a classic series Cyberman helmet/head in one of the display cases; the Doctor doesn't name it, but refers to it as an old enemy.

If you remember to the episode "Dalek" in the museum the doctor and rose see something in the display, it's a classic style Cybermen head.

Cybermen are from classic who also, and welcome to the whoniverse with all the 2 parters, welcome to our world, its ok for you to watch the next day, we had to wait a whole week for part 2 and stuff lol 😂

The cybermen don't say 'Exterminate', you're thinking of the Daleks. 'Delete' is new for the Cybermen with this episode, despite lots of classic who appearances.

I know, it just reminds me of the Daleks saying Exterminate, and I like that better, lol

It's better not to know when a two-parter is coming up, in my opinion. It's certainly more fun for us.

Just as I was looking for something to watch, this is uploaded - thanks for a great reaction! The Cybermen are my second-favourite Who villians (behind an enemy you have not yet been introduced to yet!). Admittedly, in my opinion, the New series doesn't do them justice like the Old series - the idea of technology at that time, and how quickly they predicted progress and scientific advancement made them terrifying villians because it was a very real and believable idea of what the future may bring (I'm told, as a Millennial). They've even brought the demise of companions, and been in some of the best episodes Old Who has to offer - please be open minded to them! They're different from the Daleks in origin, but I won't bore you with those details. Though both are killing beings in a metal shell, there's some key differences - Daleks want to exterminate all life that are not them, believing they're the best and will win even if there's only one Dalek for this mission. Cybermen want to convert all humans,increasing their power through numbers and doing humanity a favour in evolving them via upgrade. Daleks feel purely hate - Cybermen feel no emotion at all. I hope you enjoy part 2 and warm up to them a bit more!

I agree, some of the recent Cybermen stories haven't done them justice compared to classic Who and series 2.

@@10thdoctor15 I'm glad another Whovian agrees! (I'm not sure anyone who saw Tomb of the Cyberman or Earthshock as a child will ever recover from how terrifying they were in those episodes!)

My first ever classic was Caves of Androzani, followed by Tomb of the Cybermen. 10y/o, watching what's imo one of the darkest Who stories ever and then one of the most disturbing. After Earthshock's ending, safe to say I didn't understand why Classic is marketed as a kid's show!

@@xox_watching_wonderland5735 I was 9 when I saw Earthshock, just after series 2 finished. I love how the "You shall be like us" line from Tomb is adapted in series 2.
