I have one, I guess it is this one, but the led at the top is dead... Doesn't light up blue or red ! I didn't know i could light up the green led on the side (uploading River into the core) that's amazing ! Thank you !

This was the first sonic I ever got when I was first getting into Doctor Who circa 2012 or so. Sadly mine somehow is a bit the damage, the gold paint somehow fading away and leaving some ugly unpainted grey blemishes. They match up with the areas of a hand grip, so I dunno if I held too tightly onto weak aresa of the paint job once or twice or had a bit too much grease or something on one occasion. Makes me wish to get a reissue for that reason, at least.

I'm really hoping for a few rereleases next year. I lost my 4th doctor's sonic on the Eurostar train to Paris in 2019, my 10th doctor sonic dematerialised, and my thirteenth's sonic has a broken speaker! Eleven's spring loaded feature is broken, leaving it constantly extended, but the electronics work fine, and twelve's stopped working in 2020. My only perfectly functioning sonic is good old Jon Pertwee's first sonic. I'd quite like to replace the sonics I've lost and the ones I can't fix, as well as pick up some more of the classic design screwdrivers, and the river song sonic is definitely on my list. I hope I can get them fairly cheap, because I'm not paying the £100+ for a toy sonic. If I had that kind of money, I'd spend it on higher quality replicas.

Update: After having puzzled me for quite some time, I handed twelve's sonic over to my dad, to see if he could spot the problem. Turns out, the batteries had expanded over time, and bent the metal in the battery compartment, he straightened it out, and it's like it's brand new again!!

Had mine since i was a child. Sadly the grey button seems to be permanently stuck in, and im not sure its fixable. Any way to open the sonic?

Getting the original release river sonic and the 9th Doctor vortex manipulator still in their boxes today for fifteen bucks each off Facebook marketplace… I tell you I jumped out of my skin when I saw the listing 😂… never seen em so cheap

If they do re-release this sonic they need to fix that weird gap that runs down the side. It looks so cheap.

I have one of these but the button in the relay doesn’t press. At all. Is there a reason for that?

You probably have one of the re-releases shown at 0:47 , the one from the first wave (the one on the left at 0:47) only lights up blue and the Wave 4 version only lights up red.
