Given how they’ve had the Doctor point out people from Gallifrey have titles they use more than names and listed a load you could have a new Gallifrian villian called ‘The Director’ that would fit this theory.

I think you're right. I'm in the middle of editing a video about it. I found a few more hints that he's stuck in a tv show since "Church on Ruby Road" I believe both Doctors have been stuck inside a tv show since the Toymaker said "BEHOLD! A GAME OF TWO DOCTORS!" (before the doctors challenged him)... plus it was the Toymaker's turn to choose games.

Did anyone else catch the big billboard in the Devil's Chord? Chris Waites and the carrollers. I think that might be the one who waits. And it would tie in Ruby's association with Christmas! Is it a parent of hers possibly?

Its a nerdy reference to something Ian said in the very first episode. Its either just an Easter egg for eagle-eyed fans or if it does have a meaning, it _might_ link to Susan, who is mentioned on the same rooftop by the Doctor. 🤔

This is what I was thinking! They might do something WandaVision-esque with some sort of powerful being orchestrating Ruby's life and more powerful creatures like The Doctor and Maestro being able to notice these manipulations. I'm very interested to see where this goes

I feel that everything has to be revolving around Ruby. I theorized that she would be connected to the pantheon and subconsciously controlling the season through her words (the essence of storytelling or something). I really like that it could simply be her story told through a tv show that is being played out somehow. Very cool theory to bring it all together! No matter what it ends up being, I am invested and loving this season.

Yeah I am convinced it all lays with Ruby but it has been said that Ruby isn't one of those special companions with a special purpose she is more like Rose and Amy and less like Clara.. I was conviced she was some magical creature like a Fairy or something for a while there too haha!

this actually makes a lot of fucking sense. and no one picks up on it because everyone thinks its just a revamp because of the disney thing. but if you're right its FANTASTIC. because I hate the musical bits and I was worried it would become more americanised as the new seasons go on. but that might be what they want us to think! it would be very very typical RTD behaviour, I was surprised that he let it get this americanised.

Considering the doctor broken the 4th wall many times look at the episode listen the doctor was talking to him self about being alone and thinking that you're not alone look at the series 1 trailer when the ninth and rose was introduced look at a couple of time when the tenth doctor did it look at those time when the seventh doctor looked at the screen and tapped his nose look at the time when the fourth doctor Romania I and K9 mark II did the Christmas message look at the end off the credits on the ark when the fourth doctor spoke to the ordinance with a blank back ground the bloody first ever Christmas special with the first doctor and the eleventh doctor and strakes did for the introduction of the day of the doctor in cinema plus Clara and captain jack did in Torchwood and so did clyed on the Sarah Jane adventures and not forgetting that there was a comic book episode where beep the meep coursed the eighth doctor and his companion to enter the 4th wall universe where they met the actor who played the fourth doctor in my opinion the doctor breaking the fourth wall really suits the doctor it gives him more of a mysterious effect to the carictor.

All started after Donna knocked her coffee into the TARDIS, except for the Meep and their boss! I had a wild theory about classical mechanics (Newton) and quantum mechanics. Based on the double slit experiment, that the act of observation changes that which is observed. I have since read and watched compelling arguments for Susan, the Trickster and the meddling monk. I think there's definitely more than 1 big bad / plot going on.

Yes --- show with in a show. There was a different sort of fourth wall break in Space Babies. Ruby mentioned Star Trek, and the Doctor suggested that they ought to visit them someday, as if Star Trek were not a TV Show. When the Susan Twist character appeared in that episode, she was dressed kind of like a Star Trek character. Her character's name was "Gina Scalzi." John Scalzi is a science fiction writer who won the Hugo award for his novel "Red Shirts." In "Red Shirts," the characters, who are part of a space ship crew, realize that they are in fact living in a TV series. The entire book is about breaking the Fourth Wall. So, I think you are on to something. (I also think that, in the Devil's Chord, when the Doctor tells Ruby to listen carefully, there's a always a twist at the end, before everyone bursts into song, he is actually trying to get her to realize that she's living in a TV series, or at least in some kind of meta-reality.)

I believe it is a tv show about Ruby and the Doctor has realised hence his 4th wall break. A few other things I have noticed. Both the Toymaker and Maestro first appeared in 1925. I think the salt at the beginning of the universe effects travelled across and it finally arrived in 1925, I think any future Pantheon's will arrive only from that year. I believe thats the year when reality and fantasy began to mix. The Tardis.... Isn't behaving properly we have the almost skimming of the time votex in the opening titles that creates sparks as it goes. It is not landing properly it is almost like it is losing control it is spinning and crashing into the area as in space babies and then Carla's kitchen at the end. It's not making the sound it usually does on take off and landing (you know as River said he is leaving the parking break on). It's not taking time or lot's of controls to take off and land it's almost instantaneous. The fact Maestro could make it act like that with the lights and music in the 2024 devastation scene. After that scen when they landed back in 1963 it made some weird noises which the Doctor noticed. When Susan Twist appears in Space Babies the Doctor gas his back to the screen because something happens in the space ship. In Devil's Chord when she appears either he has his back to her or she has her back to him so he never actually sees her face possibly because he would recognise her or something about her? So many puzzles 😂 The changing memory for the Doctor with the snow as a warning or indication it is significant. I suspect the memory will change even further through the episodes and may be significant that it is changing. The snow in the Tardis during the scan (but the Doctor had already left). I have seen speculation that the Doctor is one of the Pantheon or that Ruby is but I am not so sure about that. What are your thoughts on it?

What if The One Who Waits is in the audience with us, following along with the narrative? I’m guessing members of the Pantheon have Interdimensional Cable and have been following along as well. Like Maestro knowing the theme and “timey whimey.” I hadn’t thought about Ruby not looking into the camera. If this wave of 4th wall breaking is some kind of postmodern or meta modern plot point, it would be interesting if Ruby is startled at some point by the camera and suddenly realizes there’s an audience. Imagine if something triggers her 4th wall awareness. Some have speculated that she’s some kind of anomaly like a member of the pantheon or something else but similarly weird. But she believes she’s human. What if something breaks the genetic lock and frees her abilities and suddenly she sees something totally unexpected and is suddenly either in the know or trying to figure out what is going on. Some kind of supernatural Truman Show? The Doctor has said he absolutely will not be returning to that night. But that night has been bleeding through all on its own. The Christmas music and repeated snow events suggests unfinished business on that night. He may eventually be forced to return to that night either to fix something or find vital clues to something or someone involved in Ruby’s origins.

I think its going to be the god of story telling, due to each episode having a different way to tell a story, First is a Xmas story, the a baby bed time story, stage play, one set play, fables. So the 5 episodes could be found footage 6 maybe Shakespeare and 7 is tv show and 8 maybe form the bad guys

Study Brecht! Delivering lines directly to camera, can simply be a case of perspective. In classic movie-making, it is referred to as a "close up" Tthe camera pans to Mrs Flood's sightline, mid conversation, actually adhering to a fourth wall existing with her eyes following the man's departure.

(Which would make her grandma the oldest one, though that seems spurious.)

Breaking the fourth wall means doing or saying something that either explicitly or implicitly acknowledges the artificiality of the environment and the fact that both the presenters and audience are aware of that artificiality. There can be many ways in which the fourth wall is broken.
