5:43 I really love how similar to the Doctor Ricky is. For a brief moment I thought he might have BEEN the Doctor in disguise, but in the end it just shows that Lindy would’ve been swept off her feet by a White Doctor, but still ultimately treated him as disposable.

The Doctor’s outburst at the end was the very first scene Millie and Ncuti filmed together 😊 Like last week’s episode, he was still off filming Sex Education which is why these were Doctor light.

There were soooo many overt and subtle signs of racism and prejudice scattered throughout the episode: 1. Lindy was revolted and blocked the Doctor when he first appeared on her feed. 2. Lindy didnt block Ruby. She was more receptive to Ruby when she appeared on her feed. Lindy spoke to Ruby and believed her over the Doctor. 3. When the Doctor appeared for the second time on her feed, Lindy asked him if the monsters "have something to do with you" (she didnt ask Ruby this, just the Doctor) 4. Lindy told her groupcall to listen to the Doctor and that "i know this is wrong and after this is all over he will be so disciplined, i cant wait, and he doesn't look as stupid as he looks" (of course due to the color of his skin) 5. No person of color lived in Finetime 6. Lindy was shocked to learn that Ruby and the Doctor were in the same room together in such close proximity 7. Lindy told the Doctor "Didnt I block you? I knew it. I just thought you looked the same, but you're the same person I blocked. I was so right to hate you." (Implying all black people look the same) 8. When they met, Lindy told Ruby and the Doctor "Gosh, you two, this is strange." (meaning a white and black person working together) 9. And a few more microagressions towards the Doctor before they met in the final scene AND in the final scene where the racism got blatant.

Looking back and rewatching the episode since I did notice all of these, especially the ‘block’ at the start of the episode.

Brilliant episode honestly. Even after all that he wanted to save them. Thats what The Doctor does. He saves people and aliens. He always gives them a chance. Lindy however doesn't deserve saving after what she did to Ricky. I bet he would have been the only nice one.

Most of the negative input has been because we had two doctor light episodes in a row when there's only 8 episodes this season. The racist survivors in the boat are going to the wilderness, which apparently is highly dangerous. There's theories that their society once had slave labor, (Ricky mentions it) and it leaves the thought was the city built by slaves who later used the river themselves to leave. If you go back and watch the episode again, Lindy had all kinds of microagressions every time the Doctor appeared on her feed. At one point she even drops a line about all black people looking the same, and in another bit she talks about looking forward to him being disciplined.

The main actress carried this episode it wasnt Ruby and where was the Doctor 🙄 the last scene with the 15th gives me reasons to believe 😮😮😮😮 15 isn't the Doctor..........

what are you on about? 15 is the Doctor and was there all the time. He couldn’t get into Finetime so he had to communicate outside the city.
