his music score for the eleventh doctors stint in doctor who was genius, majestic, moving. the main theme for the eleventh doctor is epic adventurousness. and the score for the moving parts is heart churning and tear jerking. I would say, the single greatest musical score in human history. and in fact, the eleventh doctor was the greatest doctor of them all. the funniest and the most brilliant. his funniest line was in this very episode-'amy wants to ask you out...for texting and scones'. Rory: 'you haven't done this before have you?' the eleventh doctor was hilarious. looking back at the tenth doctor i can't remember a single moment where he made me laugh. albeit the tenth doctor had that brooding dark time lord fury seriousness conveyed just in his facial expression, which was david tennant's greatest strength in playing the tenth doctor-who was my favourite doctor for so many years i considered the best. i thought the eleventh doctor was a kid on acid, having only glimpsed bits of episodes, never having watched a series, but i watched all the eleventh doctor episodes along with all of new who in one binge six months ago, and watched them all again two months ago. and the conclusion was irrefutable-the eleventh doctor is the most brilliant, the most genius, the funniest, the warmest, the most important. i mean he saved the whole universe by initiating a second big bang using the pandorica and the tardis. and undid his own death quite a few times. plus supported by the three greatest ever characters in doctor who, amy pond-who is the greatest companion and the most important companion in all of doctor who history, rory williams-the greatest romantic hero in television history-the centurion who guarded amy pond for two thousand years, he started as a nervy insecure young man, playing almost a gay best friend role to amy. he became the soldier who keeps dying over and over again. and river song-the love of the doctor's life. i don't forget rose in that. the doctor did fall in love with rose. but there was no chance of that working, because she would grow old, and the doctor would stay the same age in looks and live for hundreds or thousands of years after her death before having to regenerate. the doctor can't go through that. and that is why he left sarah jane. despite them being close, and definitely a hint of romance between them. sarah jane was in love with the doctor and wanted to stay with him forever.but just like rose, he couldnt bear watching her grow old, watching her die. and generally likes to drop his companions back home before they get killed. on the other hand, river song was travelling in time backwards relative to the doctor, and her death was already a fixed point in time, so the doctor was happy to spend twenty years with river song having married her while he was the eleventh doctor. then as the doctor knew already, river song went to the library and died there, albeit a combo effort of the twelfth and tenth doctor's use the twelfth doctors sonic screwdriver gifted to her from the twelfth doctor to save river song onto the digital hard drive in the library. p.s. im so glad sarah jane got her reunion with the doctor-the tenth doctor. that was truly an awesome and moving moment when she sees the tardis in the school, and the doctor is standing enigmatically in that cool iconic ankle length brown trench coat. and shes gets k nine back. the doctor did the right thing getting amy and rory a house and rory's dream car for them to settle down, because the doctor had seen all the dangers they faced, how many times they died and couldnt risk their lives anymore, would never forgive himself if he put them in further danger. he had to invite them to the moment of his death via the impossible astronaut -river song inside the preprogrammed suit designed by the silence to kill the doctor. but after that the doctor should have dropped amy and rory back home. bug instead the weeping angels get rory. albeit amy and rory live a happy married life together in the thirties where the weeping angels sent them. but for the doctor, he had lost his best friends,

So I have a score-based theory: We hear this track in The Day of the Doctor when 11 meets the Curator. I thought it was an odd choice because this theme always seems linked to River in some way. At first I thought it was incidental music (and it very well may be), but WHAT IF the theme plays because the Curator/future Doctor finds a way to freeze/save River the same way he saved the time lords? And what if the Doctor's happily ever after at the end of the series is being the great Curator with River Song once again by his side?

i just loved River refusing to touch the doctor. so often in stories you see the beautiful couple sacrificing their love to save the day. and even though that ended up the case, you could tell River was a different character from all the rest. at the top of the pyramid, you could see in her eyes and the way she spoke: she was not giving up the doctor. she wasn't. because while there was one big universe of his out there to save, he was all that was in hers

Remember, River and the Doctor have a deep relationship. Although they both lie, they know a lot about each other. Sometimes through off screen adventures, but also River is an archeologist who studied the Doctor, and may have found out stuff there. This was of course before he wiped most of it from existence

The eleventh doctor has been my favourite, and like a lost keepsake I'll miss him greatly when he has to go. The wait for the 50th anniversary episode and the final episode will be long and when I watch them for the first time I'll be excited but sad, because his song will end. I don't know if it's just me, but this song reminds me of all this.
