Gatwa can't even acquit himself passably with the paltry scribblings of current Davies, so there could be no better rebuke of all concerned than for him to have to interact with superior fare from bona fide custodians. @noblerees1 A little from column A and a little from column B. I'm not saying he couldn't do better with a good script, and if the director told him to play it a different way, perhaps, but sadly I don't think that's going to happen.

Thanks for this, very interesting! In The Movie, after stepping out of the TARDIS, the cuckoo who identifies as The Doctor would have commented on the size of the gun, thrown the doors wide and invited the gang inside. As they nervously enter he would break the fourth wall with an arched eyebrow. He wouldn't have snogged Grace, going instead with "sorry love, I only snog dudes". At which point she/her would say "I think you're making an assumption about my gender, but I can't actually tell because of that stupid ****ing accent", then he would cry and the Master would lose the will to live, the end.

You know, I just had the worst thought. What if RTD watches this and he takes everyone’s comments seriously and uses them when he’s mad typing away as he does? Could you imagine if he used some of these things (the ones he hasn’t already used) as ideas for new episodes? Oh no😱
