He didn't end up being the Doctor but he was honestly a perfect Doctor. I would have loved to see him as the real thing.

Honestly, the fact that he *wasn't* the Doctor, but still managed to pull off everything he did, and even had the Doctor himself believing for a bit until he sussed out what exactly was going on, was awesome.

@@hyhena-gaming9986 Honestly, the real advantage is simply the fact that he has extra tools, more experience, and bonus lives. (Okay, being a Time Lord comes with other major benefits too, but you get what I mean)

He should've been the 1 in Journey's End with the exact same characteristics as the 10th, known as the 11th doctor! But, the duplicate doctor would still be David Tennant though, but Matt Smith would still be at the end of The End Of Time, known as the 12th doctor!

He’s a very doctor doctor, what a general audience member would expect but not unique, personally I couldn’t be happier they went with Matt Smith and Peter Capaldi as the next actors

David Morrisey kinda has a classic Doctor energy in this episode. He'd honestly be a great pick for a future Doctor.

It's so strange seeing the Governor being so chapper and friendly _without_ any hints of violent behavior.

He still could be a future Doctor. Capaldi showed up in multiple other roles in canon before becoming the Doctor. Tennant himself even played some minor roles in Big Finish and the like before graduating to becoming the lead in the revival’s second season.

Interesting, Tenth Doctor seems cool thinking he's gonna regenerate into David Morrisey at some point. Yet just in the last episode right after avoiding a full regeneration, he says 'I didn't need to change. I didn't want to, why would I? Look at me.'. Then in "The End of Time", he's back to not wanting to change again.

He probably thought it would be much later and is ok with that. But he doesn't want to go because he hasn't lived long enough

He's understanding of the concept and existential inevitability of his own regeneration, But that doesn't mean that when time comes for him to actually die he'll act the same way. Everyone is aware of the fact that they'll eventually die but they can't quite comprehend it until they're truly approaching the event.

I think there's also the added benefit of him realizing he'll live to regenerate, that by encountering his future self, even in a different form, and especially seeming to travel with someone, the knowledge that there's good times ahead despite his "death" of regeneration is comforting.

He could still be a future Doctor. Colin, Tennant, and Capaldi all played other minor roles before taking on the lead role.

David Morrisey nailed being *The Doctor* in one special more than Jodie did in 4 years...
@wolfpat Жыл бұрын
To be fair, Jodie had crap to work with, as did Peter Capaldi before her.

To Jodie‘s credit, I think it was mostly Chubnall‘s awful writing that made her lose out. I’m sure she could have been fine with competent dialogue and storytelling.

@@wolfpat The difference is Peter made bad episodes like *In the Forest of the Night* watchable, I got halfway through S11 and quit.
@wolfpat Жыл бұрын
@@ObviouslyKieran I quite agree. I suspect the writers were more concerned with trying to get into Jenna Coleman's pants than writing a good story. I think the Capaldi era was starting to hit its stride with Bill and Nardole. I loved Nardole's running commentary.

While we never got to see him as the real Doctor, it would be so cool to see him as the next one with Tennant’s hand clone on the parallel Earth as his companion
