He used a different delivery to the recorded version, too. I think the excavate wordplay got the biggest laugh. That and more than half of anything the Master said.

This animation is excellent. Nitpick regarding your "VHS" look - and almost EVERYONE makes this mistake... Assuming 8-bit/channel color RBG color space, VHS video - whether you are emulating PAL (Europe) or NTSC (US) standard def video, black levels are NOT 0 and white levels are NOT 255. "Black" is 16, 16, 16. "White" is 225, 225, 225. The IRE scale in standard def broadcast didn't allow for true black and white. The 'superblack' (values below 16, 16, 16 RGB held the time code/synch signal, while levels above 225, 225, 225 held audio. (luma values above 225 (RGB) or 100 (IRE) would actually cause audio distortion!) Anyhoo, I did broadcast engineering back in the standard def days, so this was something I'd have to correct for (usually on commercials) when given out-of-gamut images. So, for future VHS simulation to look correct, use levels or curves to bring your blacks up to 16, 16, 16 and whites down to 255, 255, 255. But, again, excellent animation. I really like the design of the Driller Dalek. Very well done. 👍

This is super interesting. You reminded me of why video games looked better on CRT displays before flatscreen TVs with HD came out. I cannot for the life of me remember the nitty gritty details but I think it was to do with how the scan light inside the TV displays picture coupled with a good quality cable for the picture/audio from x game console.
@triem233 ай бұрын
@@CardCaptorDeadpool Possibly. Also could be because the CRT phosphors had more "bleed" than LCD screens. Plus, with the SD video signal being interlaced and split into 2 half-res fields per frame, the screen was actually updating faster than the signal? But I think a lot of it had to do with bleed. Until I moved from the US to Ireland a few years ago I still had an old CRT display, and anything standard-def, whether broadcast, DVD or VHS just looked better on the old TV than a hi-def set.

James, when you said you we're dabbling in animation I didn't realise you meant you were more than capable of creating the best Dalek animations out there, you muppet 😂. Absolutely fantastic! 👏 Only my opinion but one trap that Dalek animators fall for is too much arm, gun & eye twitching. I don't mind the whole Dalek gliding back and fourth as the real operators seemed to do that but a mild twitching of the eye as they talk and look at the ground seems slightly more realistic to the original real life props with the armsl/gun only moving when needed.
@The_Prydonian4 ай бұрын
I did make them deliberately a bit more animated, but I tried for the most part to make the motion quite jerky, rather than too much smooth flow to it. Another big part is adding the operator 'wobble' effect too which I always think help sell them as living creatures then just a purely robotic lifeform.

So daleks have a sense of humour. They have laws, an emperor, a prime minister, they make laws, this begs a question, Do daleks have comedy clubs? Is all we see just soldier versions of daleks? You know any war machine needs resources, so do they have a job market? Are daleks capitalist?
