This isn't just an American phenomenon; it's worldwide. People often believe that governments control the world, but that's not entirely accurate. In reality, the control lies with the banks, which are influenced by a select few immensely powerful families who are not widely known to the general public. This system operates ingeniously. Unlike the old systems where monarchs ruled, making it clear who needed to be overthrown for a revolution, this current system is incredibly difficult to alter because those in power are effectively concealed from public view.
@ThomasEdward-l2u Жыл бұрын
@keffbarn "With the concentration of capital and the growth of bank turnover, their importance changes radically. Scattered capitalists form one collective capitalist. By keeping a current account for several capitalists, the bank performs a seemingly purely technical, exclusively subsidiary operation. And when this operation grows to gigantic proportions, it turns out that a handful of monopolists subdue the commercial and industrial operations of the entire capitalist society, gaining the opportunity - through banking connections, through current accounts and other financial transactions - first, to find out exactly the state of affairs of individual capitalists, then to control them, to influence them by expanding or narrowing, facilitating or hindering credit, and finally to completely determine their fate, determine their profitability, deprive them of capital or give them the opportunity to quickly and enormously increase their capital, etc." Imperialism as the highest stage of capitalism Lenin

2011 isn't the height of the power of USA, only 3 years away from Great Recession
@brucewilliams21063 ай бұрын
The first part of the quotation ("If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the people of all property until their children wake up homeless on the continent their Fathers conquered") has not been found anywhere in Thomas Jefferson's writings, to Albert Gallatin or otherwise. It is identified in Respectfully Quoted as spurious, and the editor further points out that the words "inflation" and "deflation" are not documented until after Jefferson's lifetime.[2]
@joeblow39903 күн бұрын
Thomas Jefferson authentic quote: "I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people to whom it properly belongs." Jefferson believed that the power to issue money should be taken away from banks and restored to the people. Jefferson would have agreed with the quote that you mention. The quote that you mention may not have been an authentic Jefferson quote, but other quotes from Jefferson indicate that he would have agreed with the sentiment at the heart of the quote that you mention. So you may have a point, but it is a minuscule one.

There's one thing they missed out on: more things than just Gold have value. For example: if I take $100 in materials to create a machine worth $1000, how do you represent that $900 in value that's been added to the market? You have a paper money system based primarily on a country's GDP. If the government (it absolutely should not be a private for profit banking institution) prints $900 in paper money after the machine is built there's no issue because the tangible material wealth is correctly balanced with the amount of paper currency. It's when institutions print money without it representing material goods in the market of equal value that shit slams into that fan

The US government is going further into debt about 1 trillion dollars every 100 days. That will only be faster over the coming years. Huge amounts of dollars sit outside the US, devaluing at a rapid rate. At some point we will be borrowing to pay the interest on what we borrowed. Something has to give.

@Sean Lee so the messed up thing. Is that the those same people who made the declaration also rationalized in the federalist papers that we the citizens were not capable, qualified or had enough sense to pick a President we saw as having the required leadership skills and qualifications to run a country. That's kinda of an oxymoron in a sense. Looking out for our best the countries best intrests while also telling us we lacked the neccessary skills to vote or choose a leader for our country. After that the electoral college was born voters were chosen for us and our right to choose who runs our country was stripped from us before it even started. Sure the cartoon seems to lean to the right, but in actuality wanting less government influence in our lives is wanting more freedom in life. Congratulations, you are owned and controlled by a corporation. You are only on the first level of many and your eyes have yet to be opened, necessetatively you have yet to dis-cover (why was it covered in the first place?) anything of real value. I don't know how to tell you this, but generally speaking, fiscal conservatives (and libertarians) are those most in line with less money printing and less government spending (which results in inflation). Bernie advocates for many social programs (lots of spending) which result in inflation. I do agree that he at least comes across as someone to help the common folk, but his solutions to get the money away from the rich corporations are to give the money to the government to allocate (ie raise taxes), which is again giving the money to a select few rich people at the top. He doesn't actually solve the problem, but just changes the hands of who has the money (and in some cases doesn't change who has the money at all because corps can lobby with gov)
@FristpeopleАй бұрын
@@griffinarcher2911 You do have a point but you give not solutions to the problem at hand. Money has already been exchanged from the poor and middle classes to the rich and ultra rich. Through taxation and low wages. So how do you suggest we change the flow back to the middle class and take care of the poor. The government as designed was not meant to take care of its poor citizens and there was not middle class to speak of then. So, you seem to see the problems but what is your solution?
