the color red is used so the audience doesn't see the bull's blood on the sheet at a bull-fight
@zacharisincennes80262 жыл бұрын
0:32. To answer your question, the color red isn't what irritates a bull during a bull fight. Like all mammals except for most humans, bulls are color blind. It's actually the movement of the sheet that agitates them. The reason the sheet is red is so it can be more visually striking and conspicuous for the audience.

@@Max-js1mx not to be too nit picky...but.... if the standard of what a color looks like is set by us then anything that doesn't see it exactly the way that most humans see it would then be considered color blind. As a New Orleans resident, I have ridden on an airboat. They even drove it over a road at one point to get to another part of the marsh, which was wild. They're incredibly LOUD. Full sized, over-the-ears, headphone-like protection is a MUST, which easily explains why Wee Man couldn't hear "kinda," after his stunt. OH HELL YEAH!!! Airboats are DEFINITELY fun!!! You (Doc' Wagner) should definitely get out and catch some video of your first chance to try and drive one!!! (It's always hilarious)... The thing is, they're entirely flat on the bottom, so it's very VERY low draft (not much water to float) AND there's no "rudder" under the surface either to keep you straight. The fins directing the prop-wash is the only directional control you get, so EVERYONE forgets a little of "catching it" after making a turn or direction change, and the boat will drift and Drift AND DRIFT off to the side... BUT it's also really cool, because you can run right up over the solid ground as long as you just DO NOT LET OFF THE THROTTLE, and carry right on back to the water... Easy as hell to spin out, but that's all part of their charm! Highly HIGHLY recommend it. In fact, you should see about a series following your progress as you learn all the ins and outs of driving them. They're difficult to control (obviously) and no amount of other boating skill or experience is especially going to help. I'm not even sure aviation experience is much of a bonus. You just dive in on the thing and make a right pig's ass of it the first time out, laughing and puking (if you're susceptible to motion sickness) and taking occasional breaks so your brains can "un-rattle" or "catch back up" with the rest of you. ;o)

Alligators aren't as bad as your imagination tells you they are. Of course the occasionally kill people, but if you go swimming where you know they are present, it's your own stupid fault. As a (former) nature photographer in Louisiana I can confirm. Alligators are typically afraid of people and will avoid them when possible.
@gnarthdarkanen74642 жыл бұрын
They're not entirely UN-like the croc's either. Ambush Predatory behavior is common in the whole bunch... As a guy who's specifically gone out to rescue the gators and croc's from people, the vast majority of them ARE skittish around people up to about 8 to 10 feet long... It's around that size and weight class that they start to realize they're big enough we don't pose much threat, and then it's more ambivalence than avoidance outright. Go to fill your canteen or get wash-water where there's an ambush set, and regardless of species, you're likely in trouble... simple as that. ;o)
@johncee8532 жыл бұрын
@@gnarthdarkanen7464 My main point is that alligators are not as bad as most people THINK they are. Simple as that. You are 100% correct, but don't forget my other point about dumba$$es getting in the water where they KNOW alligators live. I'm not talking about tribal people getting water from the Nile or Mara Rivers. That's a whole different scenario.
@gnarthdarkanen74642 жыл бұрын
@@johncee853 I know... I'll only call them "river-dragons" once they're at least 15 feet long... BUT the reality is that even the croc's aren't quite as horrific as people seem to believe... Most animals don't run around with murder in mind 100% of the time. You're not automagically going to die because you saw a rattlesnake, hissing adder, or cobra, etc... either. The same with spiders, scorpions, or the infamous gila monsters... AND even among the tribals, 8 out of 10 times a human gets him or her SELF into trouble out in the wild spaces. Tribal folks are just a bit more resilient or resigned to that as a way of life... Even the South American folks who wade into streams KNOWING they're teaming with river-stingrays (aka "The wish you were dead fish") consider a stingray scar a "mark of stupidity" as much as the sign of going through something remarkably agonizing and harrowing. Modern humans seem to have forgotten how to immerse themselves into the wild places and become part of the environment. We need taught to do that. Yet, as you put it, dumb-asses get a hard-on for hiking or adventure and just take off like they're somehow masters of all they purvey, which for the uninformed and untrained, rarely goes well. ;o)
