I’ve done the Heimlich maneuver on someone before. The older gentleman was choking, the first lady couldn’t get enough leverage, so I stepped in (I’m a but taller, and thankfully chose to wear heels that day) and was able to get enough leverage, and he was able to dislodge the food. It was pretty scary, but thankfully, all worked out in the end. Thankfully I’ve been licensed due to babysitting, and going through a course in gym in school, and knew what to do. Definitely should be a mandatory thing taught each year in school

5:56 funny enough this has been debated in science for a good while until it was eventually proven false. The reason ice is slippery is because the top layer of ice consists of free moving molecules. Think of it like a jar of marbles, the marbles on the bottom are compressed on all sides from other marbles but the top layer is not and is therefore “slippery”. Interesting little physics fact

Last time I had to use Heimlich manouver was when my mother started choking, fortunetly it all ended up well, but that was definetly the scariest moment of my life. (I had several first aid courses along my schooling, and man, you never will know when these things you learned come in handy)

What about M.A.S.H? Used to watch that show quite a bit when I was younger and I wonder how accurate are the many medical scenes in the show. I’m very curious what most doctors would do in one particular scene. The episode “Death Takes a Holiday” has a (spoiler) father die on Christmas day. One of the docs goes to the clock during this sad moment to move the minute hand a few minutes forward. The reason was so his wife and kids wouldn’t remember Christmas as the day their husband/father died

I commented this on your Adventure Time video, but that one's over 6 months old, so there's little chance you've actually seen it. That video only showed scenes from the first two seasons, so while the later ones are more story- and character-driven than comedy-based, they still definitely have some good medical (or medical-ish) scenes. These are the ones I came up with. "Another Way" (S3E23) has some *_very_* alternative forms of medicine. "All Your Fault" (S5E9) has a scene with some casual brainwashing. "Little Brother" (S6E11) gets into some worm physiology, which is always fun. "Joshua and Margaret Investigations" (S6E16) has some scenes regarding venom and antivenom, and one scene in particular towards the end which I'd love to see you react to-no spoilers, but fans of the show exactly what I'm talking about. "Dentist" (S6E21)... I mean, it's in the name. Also, worms. (not those kinds, fortunately) "May I Come In" (S7E10) has another scene involving venom, and is continued by the scenes in PepBut's poison lab in "Take Her Back" (S7E11). Also, I know your channel is mainly focused on the physical side of health, but "I Remember You" (S4E25) and "Simon & Marcy" (S5E14) have some great depictions of mental health.

If it's caffeinated, they could potentially get caffeine toxicity, which can even be fatal (though not always) It also depends on the type of tea as some teas do contain other compounds that could potentially be dangerous in high amounts I think? But if it's not got too much caffeine or it's decaf, and assuming the type of tea doesn't have anything specifically dangerous in it, so long as it's a one time thing it'll probably be fine. If the person in question starts feeling unwell, they should go to the doctor. It's definitely not a healthy habit though Disclaimer: I'm not a doctor, I just have an interest in medical science and it does seem like you're gonna get an answer from an actual doctor in the comments section lol

Suddenly got a flashback to when I could have just randomly died as a kid. Was choking on some really chewy steak. And brilliant kid that I was, I calmly walked off to be by myself while trying to get the steak out of my throat. For some stupid reason I was too embarrassed to signal for help. Couldn't breathe, couldn't gag it out, just standing in my little clubhouse alone. Managed to get it out, but nobody ever came to check on me. Really could have died that day, and I never thought about it until just now.
