If you’re like me, you’re out of shape because you didn’t practice enough over the holidays. I'm going to use Reichert's Seven Daily Exercises, number 3 to help me get back in shape.
I'm going to start at the beginning, play a little and tell you what I'm thinking about, and what I'm going to be working on as I'm trying to get the feel back into my lip, the way it should feel when I know I'm in shape. I'll talk to you about what I'm going to be looking for listening for and what I'm feeling for.

Using Reichert 3 to Get Back in Shape FluteTips 88
What's important is feeling the muscles work, making them work, feeling them work, and realizing, okay, I can get back in shape and I can do it really quickly if I pay attention to what I'm doing.
So, when you're out of shape, go to your exercises. Do them slowly. Do them carefully. Think about what's happening. But most importantly of all, think about your embouchure, make it fluid and flexible, and you'll get back in shape faster than you think.
