good analysis! I picked up a stitch on bladehq that popped up from their June batch, sold out so quick. my only caveat to what you said, is that while it is heavy, i feel it carries like a much lighter knife. There's a shiny spot on each side of the sharpening choil , is that from wear , or from the person who sharpened it screwing up ? They really stand out on that DLC coating . Who is better? Who sets the trends...Tony does, only. Have you ever met him? Have you ever seen a custom maker that makes as many customs as he does? I am done....if you know a custom maker that is as "successful" as Tony Marifone, state his name. I have been a collector for more than 10 years. I am not a newbie.....I respect your opinion, but to say my comments are a bit over the edge makes me wonder who you are referring to ... ? He is not spyderco or benchmade.....They use a multiplicity of makers ....I do not know a spyderco or benchmade product that is as good as Microtech's products. Tony has been referred to as the best designer and custom knife maker by the knife community for at least the past 10 years. I also LOVE many other knife makers products. I have many, too. Not only Tony's products. But, when asked who is no 1 in the industry as a knife designer and maker and trend setter....there is only one man that is considered .. The Best ... that man is the friend of Chris Reeve, Tony. I think you misht consider asking Mr Chris Reeve if my statement is correct. Chris will tell you ... Tony is The Man for his body of work in comparison to a few other great knife makers that have only a very limited few products. It is not my opinion its the opinion of the knife community at large. Ask nutnfancy, Doc!

I appreciate Tony's work. I am a relatively new collector and realize my shortcomings as a reviewer. This is mostly just me having fun and talking about the knives I like. To have any followers is a blessing. One day I might be able to afford such things, but I have found a real drop off of diminishing returns above about $1000.
