Omg the beauty of JOSEON sunscreen is the best. It’s less greasy looking on my skin. It takes a good 20-30 min to dry down definitely not gonna look as glowy as it makes you look at first when you put it on. I never was able to wear sunscreen until I found out about Korean sunscreens and tried them. The america ones burn my face and eyes like crazyyyy I cannot handle it. These Korean chemical sunscreens are BEYOND perfect!

Oh same. I tried western drug store sunscreens like Neutrogena, Cetaphil etc which were manufactured in US and i felt burning sensation. Maybe it doesn't suit my asian skin. Tried alot of new local brands cause they're cheaper but they're eh.. Korean sunscreens are the only option left now even though they're a lil pit pricier but I've wasted alot more money on experimenting cheaper sunscreens. I wish Japan would start marketing their skincare internationally and make it more accessible.

But anyway, I really enjoyed watching this video and loved your opinion for the products. Maybe I should try them next time!! Hope you have a chance to try some other Korean products which are used by many Koreans in real! As an American who’s into Korean cosmetics, this is something I’ve noticed as well. What Western retailers say is popular in Korea and what I see in the top rankings on Hwahae and Glowpick are very different. A Korean brand that I use called Purito has barely any reviews from Korean consumers compared to the thousands from Western consumers.
@dazriper2 жыл бұрын
Depending on the country or culture, beauty standards change. In Asia, the glowy effect or glass skin prevails, but not necessarily in Europe or America. As an example, I am currently in Brazil where 99% of the products have a mattifying approach, oil control, since due to the climate, most people here have combination or oily skin and culturally they do not like to have a glowy face. And the most famous brands in the world are present, but with a different approach. That is why perhaps the best-selling Korean brands in Korea are not necessarily the best-selling brands outside of Korea, or in the West.
@zahirahzulkifli46622 жыл бұрын
how about LANBELLE? can you suggest any brands for toner or serum?
@chickennerd20852 жыл бұрын
@@dazriper yeah, the beauty standard is different. I've noticed that the best-selling sunscreen products in Korea are mostly has the 'tone-up' effect. (which is like a white cast). I've watched some of the Korean beauty influencer who mostly their audience are Korean, and when they recommended a sunscreen, it often has that 'tone-up' effect. They didn't want to have that much foundation in their face, but they want that freshly bright tone, so they use tone-up sunscreen. On the other hand, most international audience, prefer products with no white cast.

I am currently using the sunscreen from Beauty of Joseon and I am loving it. It doesn't feel greasy and has right amount of hydration for me as I live in a humid country. I noticed that I sweat less compare to my previous sunscreen. As it feels good on the skin that's why it became easy for me to reapply every two hours whenever I am out in the sun which used to be a challenge for me. It's a really good option for reapplying sunscreen. It disappears into the skin. It's true that it has a weird scent to it which I don't like but still I am gonna buy it again. It has so many pros and I am enjoying this sunscreen. I even applied on the skin around my eyes and it doesn't strings my eyes at all. I also noticed that it helps claming down my skin if my face feels hot since I live in a hot and humid country. I guess it's because of rice extract.

I am not sure why these brands are popular in international markets. Try Round Lab's Birch Juice Suncream. This is the No 1 seller in Korea.

Fun fact, I've never had acne in my whole life and in April 2020 when I was 27 I suddently had this huge hormonal acne on my jawline, chin, little on the neck and an increase facial hair. My doctor prescribed me CyEstra-35 and took them for 3 months and nothing changed so I stopped because like any birth controls I tried in the past I always had the same side effects in my legs. I also wasted a lot of money on products and nothing seemed to work. After a year, I told to myself "stop this madness, you're not the only one who has acne". So, I came back with my basic skincare routine which is cleansing with Dove sensitive bar soap and moisturizing with Neutrogena hydro boost fragrance free at daytime and aveeno oat gel moisturizer at nighttime. I also started to literally not care about it anymore and oneday I've noticed that I had no more acne or just one pimple left on my chin. Everything was gone. Now it's been almost a year that my face came back to "normal". The moral of my story is sometimes it can be the environment, food and stress. Covid started, panic was everywhere, wearing masks and we were surrounded with negative things every single day. My advice is stress is your ennemy in everything, give yourself a "me time" at least an hour a day maybe it will work. Take care 😊

The combination pill does help with hormonal acne. However, if the acne is caused but a skin barrier defect, it might help a little bit but not completely. I was on BC for a number of years and it did resolve my inflammatory acne when I was younger but did very little for my comedones or oiliness. I ended up ditching BC because of its side effects and my skin was doing pretty good but decided to go on low dose accutane to get rid of my comedones and it’s been the only thing that has truly helped. Also BC only helps as long as you’re on it. If you decided to get pregnant or come off of it for other reasons, acne is likely to come back and treatment options are really limited during pregnancy/lactation.

BC helped my hormonal, cystic acne. It also helped my dry-skinned friend. It’s different for everyone, however. My other friend, who has extremely oily skin and painful cystic acne, didn’t benefit from BC and went on accutane, which helped her a lot. Btw, we were all 16-18 when the acne came up.

Great video! I've heard that the BOJ sunscreen has caused more irritation and breakouts for people than the Isntree one. Not sure if it's the rice that doesnt work with some people...also BOJ has more of a whitecast for people with darker skintones. And affordability is another factor to consider...I believe Isntree is less expensive

Yea know what really sucks? ... Finding out that your allergic to Niacin and Niacinemide products when it trending ingredient in so many skin care products. :( It's not impossible to find products without it but now it's always dissapointing to hear it in the ingredient list. * *This is also why I find these reviews so helpful though!*

Chemical ones often have issues stinging eyes when sweating and the sweat goes onto eyes. I’m a runner and I try to avoid chemical ones cause of the reason.

Thanks for the great video! Love this channel and all the content. I wanted to know if you think the probiotics in the BOJ sunscreen will be problematic for acne/ seb derm. Would the probiotic encourage overgrowth of the acne causing bacteria or mallassezia (which I believe contributes to seb derm (I could absolutely be wrong)). Would it be counter productive to use a probiotic sunscreen and active ingredients that fight against bacterial and fungal overgrowth?

Thanks for the video, Drs.! And for what it's worth, I don't feel like you need an "obvious loser" in future Sunscreen Wars videos. It's a plus for everyone if all (or most) of the products you evaluate are winners. Besides, we're all grownups here; we don't need the clickbait-y drama of a sunscreen smackdown. ;) It's knowledge and insights we value, and you two are great at delivering them. :)

I have a problem with mineral sunscreens drying my skin out. Neutrogena is horrible for me- it's so drying and makes me itch. I like a good, thick, moisturizing sunscreen. I am currently using and loving CeraVe Hydrating Mineral Sunscreen Body (bought after being reviewed here), but I hate the white cast. Thank you for this series... I am hoping to find a moisturizing body sunscreen in one of your reviews.

I've used them both and find them both to be beautiful sunscreens, but on some days the Isntree sunscreen caused eye irritation for me, so for me, the Beauty of Joseon wins. I didn't notice any scent in either of them. Both are available on iherb, which was really convenient for me.
