I have been using this for many years. I was surprised that the demo just shows rinsing one side and then the other. What I have found effective is to rinse one side a couple times, wait 10 seconds or so, then blow my nose gently into tissue. Then repeat on the other side and blow my nose again. Then repeat back and forth until the solution is gone. I think gently blowing the solution out helps quite a bit.

This is an absolute game changer. I’ve had a really bad bout of sinusitis and a very chesty cough. The very first time I used it I was amazed and the amount of gunk that came out of my nostrils! That was all going down the back of my throat to my chest! What a relief. I woke the next morning and my nose was still clear. I used it 2/3 times a day and things very quickly cleared up. I thought I wouldn’t be able to do it (too queasy) but it was easy, strangely satisfying and definitely put me firmly on the road to recovery. I've had thirteen sinus surgeries (for reoccurring polyps) and rinse twice/day with two packages and one vial of budesonide--at the direction of my ENT. I use the NeilMed bottle and pre-mixed packages. I gently squirt a portion of the mixture into one nostril, stop squeezing and hold for ten seconds. I alternate nostrils four times, then use half of the remaining mixture on each nostril. I find this really gets rid of crusties. When I drain, I first tilt my head forward, then gently blow until the flow from both nostrils becomes a drip. Next, I tilt my head to one side, about ninety degrees and blow out gently. I repeat this for the opposite nostril. This drains my maxillary sinuses. Next, I gently blow my nose, and I'm done. I wait a half hour, then use Xhance. I have been polyp-free for four and a half years, now. Before, at four and a half years out, I would be completely blocked. Rinsing sinuses works. So does Xhance. I thought I'd share this with you and and your viewers. Thanks for video!

Mate I get it bad too it’s horrible, want to ask does the surgery hurt. And did it work
@dunkonu2311 ай бұрын
@@miguelanderson5185 Pain really depends on the doctor. My first surgery was a Caldwell-Luc as well as standard polyp removal. The Caldwell-Luc was very uncomfortable as was living with the sinus packing for a week, both the kind that dissolves and you swallow it and some kind of sponge packing in the sinuses. There were five surgeries with that one ENT who used packing. The last one, the thread used to keep them together cut into my septum from the outside--it hurt badly. Then I moved. The new ENT used computer guidance with a headgear and didn't use standard packing. He used fingers from a surgical glove, slit and packed with gauze. The packing was removed the day after. Then weekly appointments for about a month for debridement along with rinsing. Debridement was uncomfortable. But after that, zero pain. That went for seven surgeries. My final surgery was from the ENT's son. It was painless in all areas. He used a different kind of packing and it was removed the day after surgery. One debridement and rinsing. So, ask all the questions you can--especially about packing and type of packing used. Also ask about debridement and rinsing. Do not skip rinsing after surgery, if you're directed. Follow directions exactly. With rinsing using budesonide, one round of Sinuva implants (they fall out after about six weeks with rinsing, so don't worry if you get them) and Xhance, I've been polyp free for five years in June of this year. So, no in my case I have the A-triad so recurring polyps have happened after 12 of my 13 surgeries. I don't think they'll come back as long as I stick to the treatment plan. Good luck with your surgery. If you have more questions, I'll be happy to answer them as a patient.

Total game-changer and so simple to use! The first few times, it's a bit weird to be sending water into our nose but we get used to it very quickly. It's not uncomfortable at all once you get the hang of it. I used to develop full-blown sinusitis regularly each winter (living in Canada). Since using this product on the recommendation of my doctor, I have not had a sinus infection in years. I use it at the first signs of congestion or even when getting a sore throat signaling that I am fighting "something". Haven't had to take antibiotics in years. For those afraid the water will burn, don't be: the solution is amazing and doesn't burn even if you have a lot of inflammation in the nasal passages.

Always good to rinse the nasal cavity with such a rinse even if one does not have overt allergies. Think of the nose as our body's air filter. Unfortunately, we do not have the luxury of twisting it off and rinsing it like some HVAC filters. This is as close as it gets to washing the particulates that may settle on the lining of the nose which may cause congestion and postnasal drip. Of note, I would stress use of distilled water, and ensuring proper cleaning, making sure all 3 parts are disassembled with each cleaning.

One small tip - hold the bottle upright as you squeeze. This allows the dip tube to fully access the water in the bottle, particularly as the bottle nears empty. Also - if you are washing the bottle after each use with soap, and you do multiple rinses each day, you may want to buy a second bottle to use as the first dries. The bottles are very inexpensive.

Any update regarding the solution as well as the septoplasty? I am due surgery in a few weeks so I’d appreciate any insight or recommendations.

@@TopBoi93I had my Septoplasty surgery two days ago but because of the dissolvable pack my nose is still completely blocked. They said today is the day to use the sinus rinse but I am worried that it won’t come out of the other nostril due to still being so blocked. Did you experience that or was yours fine?

thanks..going to finally try this because i have tonsil stones and get bad tastes in my mouth despite good oral health, and have had sinus infections too. Ive honestly been too scared but have to try it wish me luck lol

Hi have u tried this yet ? How did u get on and how are u now ?
@existentialbread59062 ай бұрын
@@juliejulie1702 hi yea i tried it a few times. Not long/often enough to see if it really helped the stones but the few times I did didnt do anything noticeable for them. However in doing it i discovered i have some kind of deviated septum because it doesnt properly come out of one nostril lol. I would still recommend it especially if you have tonsil stones or infections etc it may help and its not that expensive to try. Its a little uncomfortable to get used to but its doable

If Ive got polyps in one nostril, should I rinse that side first or second? Im worried about the solution getting trapped behind the polyps and getting infected.

The literature for Neilmed says not to use it if I've had an ear infection. I have had one, but it was years ago. Does this still mean I shouldn't use it?

I tried a kit yesterday. I could not get the solution to come out either nostril. On my right nostril it seemed like if I kept going it would go into my throat. On my left nostril, I could feel sinus pressure building and it could have become painful had I continued. My doctor said I have vasomotor rhinitis, which basically means I have allergy symptoms without being allergic to anything. I feel stuffed up all the time. I was really hoping that this would give me some relief, and it sorta did. Just the solution didn't go through to the other nostril which seems concerning.

This is my issue too. Did you figure out why the solution didn’t drain out the opposite nostril?

@HeatherCounter - I just kept trying. It seemed to finally work. I think my head angle wasn't great the first time.

I've been told to use distilled water so the water doesn't have any impurities that could likely cause irritation. Also, don't use "hot" water. Only mildly warm. My cheat code is to put the needed amount of distilled water in a plastic bottle and set the sealed bottle on the floor of the tub. Next, dump the packet into the rinse bottle and place the empty bottle on the edge of the tub or in the shower caddy so it doesn't get wet. As you shower, the bottle of water will warm up. Also, taking a shower helps loosen all the nastiness in your sinuses. After you finish showering, pick up your bottle of water and rinse it off well. Then, pour the distilled water into your rinse bottle, paying attention to not allowing the two bottles to touch. Then you're ready to do your rinse. The water should be warm, and your sinuses will be easier to clear. Thank you for reading, and I hope you feel better.

Hello. I have a question. When using a nasal wash, the fluid in my left nasal cavity does not leave through my other nasal cavity, but I feel it in my right ear.

My ears ARE clogged, and yet my ENT recommended that I use this sinus rinse, even when I have this. Did my ENT make a mistake? What happens if I use this while my ears are clogged? Please respond asap. Thank you.

I was recently advised to use this for my pollen allergies that persist from the end of winter until the start of autumn. The doctor told me to use it 2 times a day morning and evening for 3 months while additionally mixing a capsule of 0.50 mg/ml Teva-Budesonide inside the saline solution. In the beginning I used it quite frequently but recently I feel like it's making my throat feel dry all the time. Is there a way to avoid the solution from reaching the back of my throat and only passing through out of the other nose hole? I tried tilting my head closer to the sink but I still end up accidentally swallowing some amounts of the solution...

@@BigMike-Soetoro no, it’s still stuffy to this day. I’m in the Philippines and the humidity here is unbearable some days.
