Sorry for your loss. But they didn’t just randomly start seeing people die from Covid. They’ve witnessed much, much worse than this. If they didn’t want to see this, they should’ve chosen a different profession 🤷🏼♀️ no one deserves extra praise for doing their job. Respect, sure. Raises, probably. But I’m not believing someone has ptsd from a job they’ve already been doing. Now, the new comers… it was likely a shock but just an introduction to a lifelong career choice that will continue to see death, abuse, and the most awful of awful… even after Covid is long gone.

@@suburbanearth9076 so is veterans having ptsd a surprise to you? That’s their job tho? You act like watching people die especially in various horrible ways isn’t traumatizing regardless of training. The worst part that the video didn't mention, patients who died alone because the family wasn't allowed to visit because of covid. My grandmother's best friend died alone while her kids was arguing with hospital staff to see her. This happened in Miami at Jackson Memorial Hospital. I'm a nurse at a different hospital and my hospital allows visitation for patients who were dying, we gave that family PPE's to say their final goodbyes.

I had to separate my emotions from my duties when COVID got really bad on our ICU, especially when we averaged at least 1-3 deaths a day for several months. It wasn't easy and although I did not want to be a cold fish, I had to, for the survival of my own mental health. At the end of each shift, as exhausted as I was, I had to remind myself that I had the privilege of going home, they didn't. And as for the anti-vaxxers, the misguided/delusional, and those choosing to take their misplaced anger out on us, well, let's just say I never lost any sleep over them. We've becoming a running joke to people in this country and unfortunately, that's a paradigm that's sadly here to stay.
