One time I had to have emergency surgery, the bill was 40k but with insurance it dropped to 2k. I was marveling over how nice the doctors were, and my mom told me that if I didn't have insurance they probably would've treated me differently. Definitely eye-opening

I (32) Dropped a Younger Friend (22) to the Doctor a Week Ago, Picked Her Up & She Had No Idea What She Was Dealing With. Yet, They Gave Her 6 Prescriptions! We Had to Google Each 1 to Piece Together What Was Going On With Her. Doctor Didn’t Explain to Her What She Had Going On. They Ran a Few Tests, Gave Her Meds, Wrote 6 Prescriptions & Pushed Her Out the Door

The dr, he is experiencing the system turning drs into something that can be transitioned to computer automation and AI as the dr instead of humans. That’s why he can’t think outside the box, use intuition or his life experience to heal. It’s not about that.

I appreciate that doctors are overworked and burnt out, but leaving the profession isn’t going to change things. Doctors have a lot more ability than most professions to pivot to other medical areas that are much less demanding, work part time, and or start their own practice with their own ethos and vision.

It would be beautiful to see doctors who are against the system start their own practices virtually and in person but I think the hard part is affordability. If they want to get away from insurance, that means people will have to pay them out of pocket and depending on prices, lots of people may not be able to.

Yea I’d definitely make sure I’d have good financial plans and investments in place and to look at other sources of money. People with high paying jobs are almost just as unhappy it seems

You gotta think about it. Once you’re used to making $200k+ it probably doesn’t feel like a ton of money. Im sure they worked for several years and hopefully put lots of money up into HYSAs and investments 🤞🏽 And being a physician seems hard mentally and spiritually if you’re a highly moral person so that may be pushing them to quit to. Literally for their own health.
