Well done, you Mick. Why on earth do we have to do this. So glad you kept on pushing, but it should not be necessary. What would they have said if poor Riley boy had got worse. The answer would have been " we can do better" So dam annoying. How many people suffer when they should not have done. Well done Mick. Hope he gets fully recovered soon. Best wishes R B.

When it comes to our kids, we have to be their voice. We have a special needs daughter we have been battling for her all her life. Both medically and school. She's 40 and we still stand and fight when needed. Yes, we have had some "words" with doctors and staff. I was an Emergency Medical Technician Intermediate level. So I do know something about medical issues. And that really pisses off the doctors and nurses when I go back at them. Now on to Pets- our fur babies. We've had 4 put down and it's never easy. Our cat Ivan is 15. It's just a matter of time. Praying for Riley Boy and your family, and for going on holiday. I will say, I chuckled a bit when you said the doctor gave Riley Boy the full MOT. Not many here in the states would know what that means. God Bless you mate.

Good on you Mick for pushing for a second opinion we had a similar situation with my two months old granddaughter she had breathing problems one hospital sent her home another hospital put her on a ventilator then they had to put into a coma to recover and as before sending my love to Riley boy get well soon buddy 👍👍👍👍

It seems that there is a Covid strain going around that's causing what was the summer cold in old days, to another level 😢 I was down for a week last month, and I suspect others have had it recently. Hope you're all well before you're holidays 😁 A side shaft Hayter was the best they made IMO. Keep it running ❤ Omfg, not Nans cat also for the bad news update 😢

Stay with the 2nd Doctor for now and see how the xrays turn ouot. Drop the 1st Dr immediately. Worked in the Medical field for years and that is my suggestion. Prayers for ALL of you. God Bless.

Horrible situation when you have to get forceful with people, just to do their job. I don't like to be negative because I still think there are compassionate people out there in the world. What I really feel is that sometimes you have to snap people out of their stupor in order for them to wake up and act right, it's just some people refuse to come out of their transe. Hope you all feel better soon and that Nana's situation will not be too hard on her.

I am afraid Mich the tories have run the NHS down! If they had got the chance they would have privatiesed it. My daughter has MS and had to wait 2 years for an appointment by the MS doctor. Its terible. England is getting worse than some of the third world countries. Its so sad. I have lived in Germany since I was 18 I am now 68 and am glad not to live there anymore. I hope Reilly and your famly get better soon and have a great holiday.

Sometimes you have to get in odd fights for your kids. Some doctors don't understand that they may see 30 a day, but your concern is all about this one.

In one way it’s good to see how things are, as like I do, when the family is ill, the help from so called friends when we need it most, doesn’t come forward. Family will always be first, Mick! You’re a great Dad and see that in Riley Boy’s face. Sorry you’ve now inherited what hopefully doesn’t become a chest infection, and if you can all manage to be free from ill health, at least 7 days before you go away, that holiday is going to feel so much more of a deep exhale of breath, after that’s all gone on from starting with your Dad and worked its way right round the whole family and even pets. Try not to get the camera out and relax where possible. To see the first film when you all come back and settled, will be like night and day for you all, and the new recharged, Mick, Mrs P, and our Star, Riley Boy! will be like new people, on a new series. Garden is coming along a treat and can’t believe how those robot lawnmowers just plod away, amazing. Take care to all and hopefully see you before the holiday, but if not, see the new series, when you’re all back. Ian

Receptionists should not be giving medical opinions - they follow procedure and are often overburdenend, as you pointed out. Complain to PALS and suggest the receptionists receive correctional training . Well done for persisting and getting a second opinion.

Its always darkest before the dawn Mick, you will soon be through it. The funny thing about the NHS is that the more money that goes into it, the worse it seems to get. Too many non clinical staff involved, busy trying to justify their massive saleries!

I have been blessed with my Gp surgery. It is such a shame when you hear stories like this. You can understand why these receptionists are used in this way, to free up Gp time. However, there is a limit to what they should be doing. They are an interface for the Gp or nurses, they are not a replacement. Like I said in my case they have a very good balance. Such a shame if that is not always the case.

mick i know exactly how you feel I have a real bad time with doctors' receptionists they said we can get you a appointment in 14 days Sue rang an ambulance I had had a heart attack

Hope Riley Boy continues to mend. I have been known to “fire” doctors. It’s usually not the doctor but rather their supporting staff that causes issues. Still, it’s the doctor who chooses to keep the staff and ultimately gets the blame.

Well done, mate You’ll probably find the doctors these days over there from what I see on GB News are too busy attending to all the illegal Albanian refugees than to bother about their own people……. All the good ol boys weren’t hopping over the top of trenches at the somme for you to be taking second place now……. All the best from melbourne australia

Well from Christmas and January coughing my lights out and our doctors do nothing so Feb chest x-ray and told I need meds and nebuliser and inhalers then in match getting worse and then called called out doctors told it wil get better if you rest and recover at home so 6 week go's by nothing shifting it and then hun doctors call me said I need a different meds till end of Jun nothing helping and Friday doctor reception told me no appointment till second of August if your not well go to a and e and I dad it cost cist over £100 each way by taxi so it crazy
