I have considered becoming a Doctor to the Barrio myself, and I remember having so many questions before!
Here's everything I wanted to know! I'm so glad my med school classmate, Dr. Poton David, made time for this interview. I hope you learn a lot from him, as I did.

i really want to be a DTTB since i've seen how much barrios are in need of doctors. as young as i am,18, i've already participated in medical missions here in the barrios of cagayan valley with the help of the interact club of rotary. it was really fulfilling to get to help people lalo na yung parang once every six months lang sila nakapagpapa check up. as of now, i will be taking bs psych as my pre-med and hoping to be a DTTB after med school. thank you for the vid, dok!

Nakakarelate po ako sa kasama nyong DTTB kasi part din ako ng community deployment program ng DOH pero as a Nurse sa mga Barrio. Wow! I never knew until now that there is a program like that! This is amazing! This is one of the reasons why I’m proceeding medicine! Although nakakatakot siya kasi ikaw lang mag-isa na doctor tapos ‘“itatapon” kapa sa malayo and bago na lugar, but I’m sure this is super fulfilling to do and makakatulong pa sa mga tao na malalayo sa city. it's already 2020 pero napanuod ko nanaman uli ito. I am currently a 3rd year medical student and isa po talaga ito sa mga kinoconsider ko na path. Na open ko na ito sa parents ko since 1st year kaso ayaw kasi ng mom ko mag work sa barrio since dangerous daw sa babae lalo na mapunta ka sa isolated na lugar talaga. Thank you for posting this po.

Grabeh relate ako kay Dr. Poton, hindi man ako doctor. pero na reminisce ko yung days namin dati sa Pub Health & Nutrition, nung na immerse kami sa Norzagaray at batasan, grabeh, hindi lang health and nutrition project ang focus namin duon, may pa livelihood pa at true yung para kang lawyer - cum - politician ka :) pero napaka - fulfilling and honestly, parang gusto ko ngang bumalik sa public health :)

It's a free ladderized course po starting from midwifery, nursing, until medicine. Great vlogs Aura! Yes, it is never too late! Ako kaya mag med school din? JOKE. But I do wish young kids will be inspired with the messages you have in the vlogs. I have a friend from vet school who continued on to become a "real doctor" as we call human physicians. She specialized in OBGyn. She has dedicated her life to doing mission work in poor rural areas in Asia. I am so proud to be her friend!
