Still having trouble pinpointing where this Master is from though. Especially since he's had that drum sound in his since he was a kid. Since he mentioned Jodeall Bank, could be near the incarnation of the Master that let Tom Baker's Doctor fall to his death/Regeneration.

@@TheHufflepuffSaint this version of the Master is post-Missy. After being shot by the “Harold Saxon” Master, she used an Elysian Field (an artificial means of regeneration) to regenerate into a more benevolent incarnation, called the Lumiat. The Lumiat went around helping people, to a point that when she encountered her previous incarnation, Missy confused her for the Doctor. The two teamed up until Missy got bored of the Lumiat, and wounded her so that she’d she’d regenerate, and Missy speculated (correctly) that the next incarnation wouldn’t be as benevolent.

The funny thing is that Nazis had a habit of ending many of their long-range communications with the letters "HH" as a salute (which helped the allies break many of their codes). So at least for a few seconds, that Nazi at the telegraph machine would be thinking "man, this person is just really enthusiastic about the Fuhrer."

@@kohakkanuva3224 For real though. Although Sacha is a good actor, they could have given this Master so much more. Also, comeon, after Missy anything else pales in comparison in terms of writing. They can retro-fix this by implying Sacha plays an earlier regeneration, but, by the gods, if we can have Tennant back can't we have Michelle Gomez too? Can't we for one flippin season have the Master as the "companion" and see them work the rest of their squabbles away like the odd couple they are?

One of the best scenes of Jodie Whittaker's Doctor. In my honest opinion, I still don't see Jodie as the Doctor, and I blame the writers. There's so many missed opportunities for the Doctor to really sound like the Doctor we knew and loved. The new Master was really good though, and his reveal was actually really good. It would have been perfect though if the previous series actually convinced me that Jodie was the Doctor though.

@@cece_mich Yes, I agree that Jodie is a very good Doctor. Strong-willed, energetic, etc. But the problem is that her stories have been among the most hated of New Who. I did watch some of her episodes a while back, and personally I think they were ok, but I don't think they stacked up to episodes like Blink or The Eleventh Hour. Plus, Chibnall destroyed Doctor Who canon. He ripped it to shreds, burned it, and then dumped over 50 years of backstory into an erupting volcano.

That noise literally haunted 2 incarnations of his, being the Jacobi master and the Simm master. I really like the callback and confirmation that he’s post Simm. I know it’s been “explained” in a comic it’s alluded that he’s supposed to be the regeneration after Missy but I can’t find it in me to accept that unless I see it in the show. I’d be pretty upset even then with the retcon of her arc. It doesn’t make sense why she’d regress, I do need a reason why but it is the master.

Simm's Master killed Missy with the intention of "correcting" his future. He disabled her ability to regenerate so it's likely whatever method she used to survive ended up reverting her back to her villainous state. Either way the intention of that scene was to show The Master effectively killing the good in himself.

Apparently there was at least one regeneration between Missy and Dhawan's Master called the Lumiat who was the distillation of all the good within the Master, but she was later killed by a younger Missy and it's suggested that the regeneration afterwards wouldn't share the Lumiat's good nature

Someone with him/her who will say no, that's enough. These companions were eagerly nodding and following from the beginning, the perfect storm for something even worse than the Timelord victorious.

The Waffen SS had divisions of men and women of different nationalities, including British, American, Middle Eastern and Rajistani (modern day India/Pakistan/Afghanistan) made up of Sympathisers and those who were from German families who answered the call to return to the fatherland and serve prior to WW2. On the front lines, many weren't taken as prisoners of war, they were lined up and executed by firing squad for Treason in most cases. Not out of line with this regeneration's ethics, just a smoothly continuous downward spiral. The AI killing an innocent young woman to teach the creep who crushed on her a lesson was placidly, semi-admiringly approved by her and the companions. Very cold and calculating. Would have made an excellent snowball into the Valeyard with the lack of accountability from these companions.

Didn't they have him screaming in fear when the doctor said "now they'll see the real you" and turned off his perception filter? I think it's beyond distasteful but not out of character for 13, sadly. All the callous things she does... I wouldn't have written a lady doctor this way at all. I think they should have had a lot more female writers coincide with the first lady doctor. Maybe a female showrunner too. You don't have to tone down the Doctor's compassion and make her callous just to try and avoid feminine stereotypes. The male Doctors never apologized for compromised on being sensitive and kind. Why should 13? You aren't weakening the female doctor by retaining that.

Worst part is it wasn’t even necessary. The master has collaborated with fascists before (Daleks) without needing a disguise, and the actual Nazis have collaborated with “inferior races” before (the Japanese), so you could have just had the master make a deal with the Nazis in exchange for technology or whatever, and then have them betray him at the end.
