It's funny because some shows have replaced the with CG doors, and it never looks as good. They always over-do it. Add steam escaping and stuff, or make it try to appear heavy with a sound effect, even though motionwise it doesn't seem to fit. Often with rubbish artificial motion blur effects.

The funny thing is that, of course, actual automatic doors have been a thing for a long time (every supermarket has them). It's just... why spend the money on that when you can have a guy push and pull the door for 1% of the cost? 😂

Did the placement of that Carla flashback strike anyone else as odd? You’d think that would be a scene way earlier on in the series that they call back to now. It seems like that scene should have followed the phrase “sorry, I forgot to mention…”
@SuperboyBeyond4 ай бұрын
I wouldn't be surprised if it was original from the end of Space Babies or something, but they cut it because they feel it works better here. I like it here. We know when the conversation would likely have happened. But if we saw it earlier, it wouldn't be as impactful in that moment. Because in that moment, that's all The Doctor can think about. Dramatically i think it's a nice twist on the usual DW trope.
@oliverknagg51094 ай бұрын
@@SuperboyBeyond I think you’re probably right. Personally, I think it reduces the impact of the scene a little because, since she found out who he really was, those two haven’t had an onscreen relationship at all. The sense of guilt might have been more keenly felt if there was already some foundation for that promise or whatever level of trust they have already established. Obviously there’s a great deal one can just assume through empathy but I think it looses some specificity. It made the scene feel more generic than it probably should have done.

In my personal opinion, this is the best episode in long LONG time. Rogue was a good character and the romance wasn't jarring. I loved the Doctor and him feeling each other out and slowly warming up the one and other. I love to have another "Jack Harkness"/"River Song" type of character, although seems to be slightly milder than those two. I loved rogue in the TARDIS and I loved his messy spaceship. The twists were predictable, but that didn't make them bad. Ruby engaging combat mode was a good cutscene. I was skipping through some of the drama, but I always do that, its not indicative of anything. I loved the overconfident doctor even while he is about to be teleported to death. And how he silently rages at Ruby's "death": "Good, that means they'll suffer for a long time" When I saw the trailer I was a bit reluctant to watch this episode, but I'm glad that I did!

I was watching this last night and i cried! I love the whole thing, id love to see rouge come back again but we have a theory that rouge maybe river, same thing as the master when we first got him back, hes lost all his memories but still feels that strong connection to the doctor and if rouge comes back id love to see the way they play it out! ❤❤

As a social dancer who leads and follows, the most shocking thing to me here is that Johnathan Groff had never followed before. He's a professional who performs on Broadway. This is not a criticism. I am just really surprised. Learning the opposite role, even a little, helps you improve your technique in the role that you primarily use because you know what it feels like from the other side. Plus it's fun and doubles your pool of potential dance partners. I wonder why he'd never done it.

He's not professionally trained to be a dancer, I think. He just gained skills and experiences from the rehearsals.

Good show! I can and can't wait for the next two. If the season had more episodes, it would be better. Some things take time to develop. I will be so sad when this season is over. I loved seeing monsters in the show again.
