So appreciated that you connected Section 50 to President Nelson's talk from April General Conference. I went back to his talk and reviewed it again because of this. 'Everything good in life - every potential blessing of eternal significance - begins with faith'. So needed to be reminded that all will be reclaimed. My daughter has been struggling with her faith and testimony now for the past couple of years. It has been so hard for me as her mom to just have to stand back and just love her and let her go on her own path. It has been my constant prayer that she will find her way back. This lesson was such a sweet reminder and reassurance that my "momma heart" needed today (especially having been with her this weekend for Mother's Day). You are both such a tender mercy to me. Thank you beyond words for the insights you shared.

Thank you for recognizing and honoring the process of doubting and reasoning with the Lord to overcome. We need to be brave enough to voice our doubts within our faith community, and to hear doubts from others. If we are not willing to listen to other our brothers’ and sisters’ concerns and doubts, they will turn to other doubters.

I have felt the same way. I think your efforts to keep trying is evidence that you are strong enough to be what he needs you to be. You are showing that you have a willing heart and mind. Over the years I have slowly gained confidence in the love my Father in Heaven and Jesus Christ has for me. It has taken me a long time. I feel He knows us so well and loves us so much, that He placed us in our circumstances to help us best develop. I am learning that my Father in Heaven as a greater view than I have, so I can put my trust in Him. One thing that came to me in this lesson that I'm going to try practicing this week is when I feel like I'm not strong enough, that will be my signal to turn immediately to Him for strength.

There will be some speakers that you will connect with, better than others. Those that you do not connect with - Read their talks instead of watching them. It will make a difference. Just know that they are all inspired of God. You will be better able to connect with their words, by simply reading (from those that you may not connect with). With those that you do connect with, you can both read and watch and listen to their words. Regardless of all this, the words of all the speakers will lift you up and feed your soul.

This was such a great lesson. They are all so good but this one was extra special. I loved the references back to Pres N talk. My most pressing question from conference was when he asked, “What would you do if you had more faith?” I am still pondering. I watched a movie about some missionaries in Liberia during a time of civil war there. My favorite line from the movie was when the man who was helping them escape the country asked, “Is faith always so exhausting?” Sometimes it feels that way, but as you taught today it’s so very important to keep working at it. Thanks for all you do!!

I listen all the way through. I appreciate that you are trying to validate those who are doubting. I'm sorry to be adding only critical comments. I think you both are very sincere and genuine. I have to take issue though that the implication was made several times through the lesson that people leave the church because it was too hard or because they just didn't want to live the standards. If you believe that someone is misled, I can grant that even though I don't believe that is the case. But please don't perpetuate the rhetoric that people leave because they were offended, sinning, or that it was too hard. I believed that until I left the church myself. It is in the collective thinking of the church. I understand why. It has to be one of those because if it is anything else then it looks like the problem is with the church. I'm not here to challenge belief or attempt to damage faith. But please believe that those who leave are almost never lazy learners or lax disciples. Most often it was serious gospel scholarship or unbending rigidity to the commandments that made a person question in the first place. This is a false narrative, and one that is extremely painful for post mormons. I could provide my "membership resume" and i can guarantee it would look like everyone else who is active and faithful. But with the exception of a few cases I can not get members to believe that I didn't leave from sin, laziness, or offense. Again, if you believe I've been deceived i think that is a fair viewpoint. I have lots of thoughts about that, but it's not for this discussion. I can live with that. But it is so painful when my reason for leaving is assigned to me by other members. Especially when the reasons all imply significant flaws in my character. Again, I apologize for the rant.

The Lord is direct with us so we have no room to misconstrue or misunderstand what He teaches or asks of us. If He is The Way, The Truth and The Light, that path needs to be direct, explicit, and right. How can we follow Him if the message is incomprehensible? How can we follow the prophet who leads us today if his message is couched in rhetoric or the message is hidden like those 3-D images that some can find and others cannot although it may seem obvious to the ones who easily detect them? If the work and glory of God is the immortality and eternal life of mankind (Moses 1:39), we have to know what His work and glory is, because "it is impossible for man to be saved in ignorance" (D&C 131:6).

In listening to this she was saying "cairns", as in they were following the cairns or stacks of rocks. Not "Karen's", they actually explained that is not what they were referring to. Saying Karen's in that context wouldn't make sense.

Cairn A cairn is a man-made pile of stones. The word cairn comes from the Scottish Gaelic: càrn [ˈkʰaːrˠn̪ˠ].Wikipedia

Will you talk about how one can overcome the sorrowful feelings felt when abuse of little children are happening in the middle of sacrament meeting? Observing a man grab his small son by the arm and pull him over to sit by him ( the dad) then tell him( the small boy)in a low angry voice to shut up, stop it... it happened more than once😭 What about the lady who wore a swimsuit top with a skit so that her " business " was hanging out and her whole back was bare and showing, so embarrassed for her... what does one say? Nothing? Is nothing sacred any more? Isn't the chapel sacred? Does one just sit up front and ignore what is going on? So many questions about the wheat and tares growing together and what does one do about the wolves among the sheep?

About the lady who wore a swim top and skirt...what do you say? NOTHING. Her attire has absolutely nothing to do with you. At all. You compare it to the wheat and the tares and the wolves and sheep. But which is the tare/wolf? The woman dressed in a way you don’t like...or the one who is being publicly judgmental about another’s clothing?

Right around 15 minutes you talk about truth edifying. This is hard for me. Full disclosure, I have left the church. If you knew my story I'm sure you would say that I was deceived by the devil. From my perspective I sought after truth and decided that the truth claims of the church were not true. I didn't want to come to that conclusion. I've been a very active, faithful member from my entire 36 years. I'm also asking anyone reading this to please trust that I was sincerely seeking and wasn't trying to cover sin or sleep in on Sunday. I wasn't offended by anything the bishop or ward member said. So the only option left is that I was led away by Satan. What is often suggested is that if something doesn't feel good it's not true. If you don't feel the spirit when you hear something it can't be true. But my question is, doesn't the truth sometimes hurt? There is really only two scenarios for me. Either I was deceived or I wasn't. The truth i believe I found didn't feel good at all. It was devastating and crushing, but does that make it untrue? Can feelings be a foolproof reliable way to decide truth? The decision i made was based off overwhelming evidence. Where does that come into play? I know this sounds adversarial, but I am being very sincere. The church was everything to me. It still hurts everyday. But I still believe I followed truth.
