I would ask you to make a second edition of the documentation. This video doesn't do the incredibly exciting and dramatic race justice. There are so much better pictures of the athletes and their journey through the Alps than just seeing the signatures. The dramatic shots and the exciting twists and turns within the race are important. A 2nd edition, please. Thank you very much!

I agree with you Chris. You may recall in the very early days of the X-Alps they always released a DVD with stunning footage taken from helicopter and other angles. The DVD was sold and the quality was excellent as professionals were at work to cover the action. It's the only area where I believe the Red Bull X-Alps can still improve. And why not fund the professional film crew with paid content. One could adopt the open source funding way to sell content until costs plus a margin are in and then release the content for all. Just a though. Obviously it's a heck of work across a wide field of athletes spread across hundreds of kilometers. So it needs a big film team. Red Bull has the skills in house too. So hopefully they will make better use of them in the future. Merry Christmas everyone!

Love the race and shots from the air, but the video doesn't provide much info other than who arrived in which order at each signboard. Would've liked more insight into each of the racers and the decisions they were making!

Dear Red Bull, this is not a documentary. A documentary is about emotions, telling stories behind the scenes, giving space to everyone. This is a race recap, a poor one that focus only on those few athletes we've seen enough also during the live coverage of the event this summer. I hope you do a better job for the next one, it won't be difficult.

It is such a pitty that your camera lenses are only focused on a few pilots. That way your story now lacks of content for 2nd and 3rd placed athletes. Both Oberrauner and von Känel would've deserved better coverage. How will you improve this in 2023?
@giuliosalz2 жыл бұрын
It was the same during the live coverage this summer. Only Chriegel. Just a few mentions of the girls or other athletes. Such a poor documentary.
@HoSae2 жыл бұрын
@@giuliosalz glad it's not only me feeling like this. Your comment summs it up pretty well, poor coverage of the big field. It will always be hard to record 32 athletes over the span of hundrets of kilometers but the media team could do better.
@yanncadic95812 жыл бұрын
@@HoSae I totally share your point of view guys. And I'm quite sure there must be plenty of volunteers willing to document those athletes in the back. And it's probably even more interesting to compare the different approaches and strategies. I'm quite sure that with all the communication team members something better could be arranged. But it certainly needs a team effort and spirit. Redbull is probably more encline to show sponsors than real sport spirit and performances. On the other hand we are glad this competition exists and Redbull must earn something from it right ?
@HoSae2 жыл бұрын
@@yanncadic9581 Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I'm myself in a media team of an athlete. We've provided the organisation and their media support (which btw isn't Red Bull but Zooom Productions) with a ton of recordings. First person views from helmet camera, take offs and landings and also behind the scenes stuff. And this pretty much everyday during the race in the hope to make the cut of RBXA daily recap. Today I know that you better follow the social media profiles of your favourites athletes. They provide you with better live content if they have their own media team. Best, H ✌🏼

This is a shame (but not a surprise). Nothing like a documentary, just a compilation of the short clips from the 'live coverage'. Forgetting emotions, many athletes, but never forgetting to show the sponsor gear/watches/cars. This year's official media content was the poorest in the last 4 editions by far

What I see is a 720p-recapture in the same style as the well known daily race reports with heroic “pirates of the Caribbean” music. The race reports produced by the race teams had much more ambition and depth, way more documentation style! How sad 😔 Obviously there was no budget and manpower for a real documentation production. Don’t misunderstand, we all know Tarquin and all the other media producers gave the hell while the race, they did a great job to deliver live and daily media content. A second unit would have been necessary.

Guys, please do it right or leave it. No action, no insights, 0815 filming techniques, no emotions, boring and repeating background music... I could go on for a while. And pleeeeease call the athletes by their names, not with this English accent ;) I know American's won't understand, but the rest of the world definitely does.

not really good realization ... this video doesn t do justice at all to this magnificient race. most of it is looking people signing ... You guys are doing a crazy good event, but you need to get way better people for the editing ...

I totally agree with previous critics comments, also considering that the daily footages released during the race had better quality. But if you call this a documentary, were are the basics of a documentary? There's not. It's just a race report?...but ok..... so... where are the maps? The course..? The environment? The tracklogs? The 3d of the Alps where you can appreciate the choices of the racers..?.... and so on. (For example, you have to wait 29 minutes to see the first Google earth/course image...and nothing is explained.... where the hell they are? Where the hell are they going? Why? 🤣😂) It seems that #redbull didn't care a lot about quality producing this video (that should be targeted to general audience too) and gave its production to a rookie in video editing. You can do much much better, obviously.

RedBullTV has all the great filmography for lots of great sports but the XAlps always gets neglected. Anything that gets published is always late and well after the event. Want to watch cliff diving live, yeah they’ve got you covered, skate boarding, sorted, BMX also. XALps - got to wait. Why isn’t this on RedBullTV? The RedBull coverage is always lagging behind. I wish this great event had a more committed sponsor.

I don't think, that this documentary was any different from the others. Great flying shots, mountains... Its documentary of RACE. So of course that the main role plays the top athletes. Emotions and stories you can find in romantic movie...or come to see the race personally! And complaining about the product placement? Really? As you probably know, there is no race without the money and there are no money without the sponsors... m.
