When he was talking about the US getting slaves to pick produce, I could hear the audience thinking, "I didn't get slaves. Maybe whites back then but I didnt." Provo people are sick of being blamed for what their great, great, great, great, grandfather might have done.
@ANNEKE19992 жыл бұрын
@@brett4264 Nonetheless, they are pretty good at it. When I visited the US with my father (we are German), he got comments about Hitler and being a Nazi. He shot back with a comment about how their slaves are. Made them silence but it was just so annoying. We got such comments not only once. So, US people better tolerate such jokes as some of them comment those things in a more aggressive way themselves.

@@brett4264 Oh really? Because I heard them laugh, as did I (white guy). It's so hard to be friends with the guy who can't take a joke. Comedians usually have self deprecating jokes, including their culture/fam and it's easy to laugh that those, but you can't handle it when the spot light is on you? Most hate it when the minority group laughs it up until the comedians jokes about them, and then the minority group writes blogs etc. You are being that person! Everyone knows white people aren't slave owners today, including him. Who cares? Fragile snowflakes, we have become.

@@brett4264 he never blamed anyone tho, he just mentioned white guilt - where people feel bad for what their ancestors did (again, _not_ being blamed for it). And he explained he doesn’t have white guilt despite being white, because his ancestors didn’t have slaves in Ireland.
