I think you need a bachelor’s degree, most employers would ask for that. But there’s no harm in trying though, you never can tell.

Hi, I was born in Haiti and my family and I migrated to the U.S when I was 6 years old. I am a U.S military veteran and I am now 56 years old. My entire education was done in the U.S Unfortunately I never became a naturalized citizen . am I still considered a non-native ?

As long as you don’t have an American passport or anything that proves they you are American, you will be considered as non native, but honestly that doesn’t matter, that’s are lots of schools that employs non native teachers.

My husband, he’s Canadian legalized his documents at the Canadian embassy here in Hanoi, so you might have to check if your embassy on Vietnam would do that for you. As per fee for work visa, I think it varies depending on if your school is working with an agent or doing it by themselves.

Hi! Thanks for the info! I'm from Spain. I have a degree (I'm a doctor), a c1 certificate, a TEFL certification (alongside a DipTesol, and other specialties like TEYL, TBE, TEO, and a teaching experience certification), and teaching experience. I'm planning on moving to Hanoi by the beginning of 2024 to teach English. Will I be able to find a job there or would you recommend me (as a non-native speaker) to go to another medium or small city where the competition is not that fierce, so I can secure a job faster?? Hi, though it’s definitely much harder in bigger cities, however, it’s still possible to secure a job especially if you have the right qualifications.

I will tell you the truth. Most of the people prefer white teachers here. You have more opportunities. Your age, skin color and your country Europe give you more advantage. On May , maybe it will be difficult for teachers because a bill of 3 month and evisa for people from all countries could be accepted. The problem is a lot of africans because of visa sponsorship are ready to work for 300. My friend from Africa would even work for Apax (everyone knows they have slaves) I told her not to come. Even white people, if parents are not happy the company just can fire you and it's very difficult to find other. So KZbinrs should be more conscious and not encouraging people to come.
