One of the best rider in motocross...

He is a top guy
@EarthSurferUSA Жыл бұрын
I was at the 2007 MXofN at Budds Creek maryland. RC, Poto and Tim Ferry, (RC's last pro ride). Poto on the 250 led wire to wire both moto's on his 250. He even fell, tangled with a lapper for at least 10 seconds in one of his motos, and still won. I would have to say he was the best in the world that day,---and it was the last race I ever saw. I like the rider efforts, and the after market efforts, but I really don't like the sport much anymore. Since the EPA forced the 4-stroke on the industry, the sport seems like it was nationalized by a dictatorship, (not free enterprise). In fact, I think it was.

I’ve always been interested in knowing how to sort out the alignment of the pipe/silencer when the subframes are lowered. Would the silencer mounting tabs not place downward pressure where the pipe meets the silencer?
@docwobtv Жыл бұрын
As we only take 5mm out of the subframe it lowers the tip of the fender 15mm so no real silencer fitting issues, we loosen the pipe and tighten them all up from the back of the bike and work forward

I want to put steering damper from crf to my sx 125 2009 just because I have one laying around 😂 the fitting to the frame supposed to be tig or mig welded? Or it doesn’t matter at all?
@docwobtv Жыл бұрын
Mig or tig is fine, the sweet spot for the mountings is 88mm The biggest issue you would have is the mount on the lower clamp I’d guess- and wether a cycra stadium plate will give you the extra clearance you need- just don’t ruin it for anyone !!
@WujoCaZa Жыл бұрын

When you see a bike like this it makes me think. How far have Motocross bikes come in the last 20 years? Not much in my opinion.
@docwobtv Жыл бұрын
You are right, if you took a lap time from this and a modern bike I wold expect it to be 2 or 3 seconds maybe? That’s 0.1 of a second per year advancement- and zero fun added, not great .
@briancoombes97893 ай бұрын
That’s because two strokes are 4 strokes have nothing on them
@EarthSurferUSA Жыл бұрын
Why did we make all rational bikes (before the 4-stroke), heights higher? Wanna follow me on my lowered YZ250 through an off camber turn? We can get used to anything, (even prison), but it is just a physical fact that tall bikes do not turn as well,---and that is why you have to hunt for a berm. I say the high handlebar set up today is good for freestyle and SX rhythm sections, but there is a loss of control everywhere else, (the hands in line with the steer tube feels "twitchy".). I would have to cut the seat, lower the suspension down a bit, and lower the handlebars (rotated back), until the grip ends are pointing down, and I could ride it. It is a nice build though. 21 years old now. My, time flies when you are getting old. :)

@docwobtv Жыл бұрын
As a business we buy the bikes, build them in our own workshops and run the guys at the event, it’s a considerable investment I can assure you, we have collectors who buy them from us after the event they’re built for- and as I am one of the promoters / owners of the event it’s good press for us to advertise the race, it’s a risk but fortune favours the brave….
@docwobtv Жыл бұрын
And we use these builds as test beds for the parts we make available to purchase
