I know well over a dozen musicians who had that Line6 M9 and all of them broke within a few months of taking it on tour. Glad to see yours is still alive and well, sounded great to my ears that board. Cool video :-) I like that DOD. Im using a mix of a GL custom drive and a Nux Horseband mini for my Jerry stuff. I just have the gain very low on both pedals.

Your GD riffs are excellent. Will you release any tutorials or demonstrate any Jerry stuff in the future? Do you play Dupree's Diamond Blues? Nice job on Slipnot.

Thank you. I have thought about doing some Jerry type tutorials. I'd like to have a little better production but maybe I'll do some quick and dirty iPhone vids.

Jake Van Noy please do some vids. It would be much appreciated.

Just picked up one of these and combined with my clean boost I can nail that high gain tone on Samson & Delilah or 1989/90 performances of Deal or Loser scored it for only $52 as well

That sounds great! Isn't some of that good sound attributed to that nice boutique Space amp?
@jakevannoy16308 жыл бұрын
The amp does sound great but keep in mind I've got it at very low volume (conversation loud) and set dead clean. Also, for Jerry stuff, I much prefer a Fender amp with 6L6s and a JBL D130f but on this day all I had with me was the Swart. Gets the job done!

Great playing here, sorry if I missed the position of the DOD 250, but are putting after your dirt pedals or before ? Thx
@kentdog0074 жыл бұрын
Can you elaborate on the switching box that the SD boost and DOD are triggered by? An effects loop? I cannot get my Proton to work with distortion and wondering the order of the pedal setup here. Thanks.

Could you tell what else is on your pedal board please? What's the blue one? Thanks!

The blue one looks to me like a strymon big sky reverb unit

What settings are you using on the SD Pickup Booster? Looked dialed right back? Also the 1/0/2 switch pickup deal? Thanks. Sounds great
@TheJaketone6 жыл бұрын
Pickup booster is usually on minimum which on this older model equates to +6dB. Very neutral booster and gives you a bit of that Jerry buffer/boost thing.

what'd you think of the SWART amp?
@TheJaketone6 жыл бұрын
I love the Swart amp. It’s definitely not a blackface Fender bright Jerry style tone stack. I do run 6L6s in it and I often combine it with a Super Reverb style amp called an Allen Old Flame with a JBL D130. That combo really fills each other out, Swart has this midrange that is just awesome...Swart is the peanut butter and the Allen is the jelly and bread. At small gigs I just use the Swart and I love it in that application.

@@dr.granolias753 lol na dude, I'm not knocking on this guy though he sounds great. Have you seen been to a Dead & Company show? There's no way you have to say that. I threw up in my mouth when they released the press that Mayer was going to be taking over the lead role, I couldn't stand that body wonderland egotistical maniac. All I can say is he has been humbled by Bob and after seeing him the first time I left convinced he might be the best guitarist living right now. We've all seen the attempts made to step in Jerry's shoes crumble but Mayer took it and ran. I'll never want anyone other than Jerry singing Brokedown Palace or wharf rat to me but as far as tone and playing Mayer is carrying the torch. The tone and volume from the current shows vibrate your spine to the core. Comparing a dod 250 and a pick-up booster into a tiny swart amp to what Mayer is pulling is comical. If a youtube video tops Mayer then the next guy just needs a silverface with a jbl -boom better than a guy selling out Yankee stadium 6 months in advance to people from every continent.
