The dual harmony guitar break in this song is completely, totally and utterly one of the most melodic, cleanest, coolest ever recorded. It makes complete musical sense. It never falls to satisfy my ears...Face it, lyrics, melody, chord progression, harmony, arrangement: it's got it all baby...

Saw these guys live in Virginia this past summer. Lance's vocals were great. Harmonies were fantastic. Band execution was flawless. They stayed for an hour after concert signing autographs. Just an awesome concert.

One of the best songs ever written and recorded. Definitely in the top 100 of all time. Surprised the car companies haven't incorporated it into a commercial. A mustang commercial would be cool.

Back in the day when this song was brand new, it was my friend Gary Buechs' favorite song as it inspired him. One time he played it on a jukebox and " ran " the balls on a pool table. The other player never had a chance to shoot. R.I.P. Gary. This song will always remind me of you.

I love the lyrics; rather rare for a full sone to have no repreating [refrain]. The only lyric that is reoeated is "You're stilll the one." Not repeating chorus. Love it!

WOW ! The singer had all of Larry’s phrasing down , remarkable! John Hall still the best baritone out there, and the SOLO ! It makes the Eagles Hotel California dueling guitars sound trite … Red Creek in Rochester, and Jeff Springut’s house all those years ago …

I got to jam with John Hall in Key West with Sweet Daddy. He played my guitar which is right handed, but plays lefty upside down! Incredible! Sorry we interrupted your dinner John! It's great to hear these songs again!

I have been in bands since the '70's, toured across America and attended many concerts. I have NEVER seen it until now! Amazing. I am a lefty myself but I learned to play right-handed.

In North America great music was turned out for people until 1987 when the government shut down the last un government controlled radio satiation . I think it was Ktla in Long Island. Ever since the 90s the pop music has been putrid !

Reflexiones tempranas sobre POLET POLET Ésta la decimosexta novela de Edison Delgado Yepez, (Sam Scholl) que nos trae un refrescante redescubrimiento de la sexualidad y sus diálogos íntimos de los chicos de las décadas de los 60's Sam es un viejo casi fracasado escritor que comienza a frecuentar la amistad de Polet, porque es ella la que siempre lo busca, sin saber que detrás de esa eficiente secretaria ejecutiva, que sabe mover muy bien el culo delante de sus jefes, se esconde una evangelista ninfómana, que a duras penas se había estado conteniendo hasta llegar a conocer a Sam, el hombre perfecto para ella y todas sus muy íntimas perversiones. En este último trabajo literario de Edison las conversaciones de alcoba y sus escenas y escenarios llegan a alcanzar una cota de elevadísima calidad literaria aunque el propio autor viva casi como un ermitaño. Polet aún con sus lados oscuros y siempre apretando la mano de Sam cuando al llevarlo a sus cultos evangélicos puede ver la cara de tortura y malestar por las diatribas y fuertes indirectas del Pastor que se les carga como si fueran unos herejes infiltrados, en definitiva Polet es una pervertida encantadora y muy suave incluso en sus pequeños ataques de celos contra Sam, que a pesar de todas las predicciones también a veces quiere un poco de su propio espacio para respirar y vivir su propia vida. POLET O COMO EL RETRATO DE UN MUNDO TODO CORRUPTO Sam un viejo talento literario casi desconocido y medio fracasado asiste al cumpleaños de Polet llevándole una caja con tres mil dólares y un anillo de oro blanco valorado en dos mil dólares y ella se deshace sin saber que cojones pasa aquí. Ella se le acercó a Sam un par de veces en un bar de streap tease y una segunda vez en su propio Templo para ver porque se fija en él y hay muchos indicios de que él es el hombre correcto para dar rienda suelta a su muy bien escondida ninfomanía. Ya borracha al fin joden ante el escándalo de los invitados que los ven subir a su cuarto y no bajar nunca. Éste sería el inicio de una relación llena de toda clase de locuras sexuales y toda clase de promiscuidades y sexo a veces desenfrenado con terceros y siempre Polet manteniendo un perfil completamente bajo en su oficina y en todos lados, pero lo que quiere Sam es vivir tranquilo y todo este jodido aceleramiento sexual que a veces alcanza cotas innombrables lo lleva a beber a su lugar favorito siempre en completa soledad hasta que se le acerca Rebeca la dueña del territorio de chicas paradas en las esquinas donde está ubicado el pequeño departamento japonés y caluroso de Sam. En un jodido instante la fama del viejo escritor se dispara entre las putas que siempre lo adoran por la forma como las trata y no solamente por ser ahora el Cachero de Rebeca la vieja puta de ochenta y pico de años y ser la abuela de todas las zorras y la puta del Vaticano, sino que Sam comienza a ayudar a una antigua amante negra muy enferma de SIDA con inyecciones y dinero lo que de remate logra tener el respeto a sus pies de todos los jodidos negros del barrio de Eva. Polet aparentemente no sabe en la tragedia bastante grotesca en que va a terminar todo este jodido asunto al puro y mejor estilo de Ann Rice incluso como cuando Lestat baila con el cadáver de la madre de una niña que también la van a convertir en un ángel de la noche. Lo más horrísono de el final de Polet es cuando el viejo escritor Sam, con el dinero de sus dos editoriales, una de Filipinas y la otra de Alemania, recién recibido y ya con ruta de retiro y escape a Ayampe, es secuestrado y linchado en una STATION WAGON por dos capitanes de la POLICIA NACIONAL, y luego entregado medio inconsciente a dos negros guardianes de la vieja zorra Rebeca, que se ha metido mucha cocaína en el culo y que con sus burlas provoca que Sam cometa homicidio involuntario contra la vieja puta del Vaticano y asesina de su amante negra con SIDA, Eva. La escena durísima en que Sam se encuentra con el pene atrapado en el ano de la muerta Rebeca, y todos sus esfuerzos por librarse de aquel cuerpo inerte, cuya cabeza cuelga del cuerpo solamente del pellejo, por el tremendo codazo que Sam le dió en la nuca, mientras la follaba con rabia, es verdaderamente de MANICOMIO RECORDS, algo que hace de Edison (Sam Scholl) el verdadero heredero de Guy de Maupassant. POLET ¿Pero de dónde es que saca este joven estas ideas y narraciones literarias tan horrísonas y estremecedoras y esos títulos "un mundo todo corrupto"? Sam ha nacido en Salinas Ecuador en un barrio donde por un lado es el territorio de las putas blancas y por el otro lado el de las trabajadoras sexuales afroecuatorianas. Sin embargo, Sam se convierte con mucho esfuerzo y caminando muchas veces entre denigraciones e improperios en un escritor, alimentado por dos editoriales miserables, la una de Filipinas y la otra de Alemania y donde a veces ni siquiera consigue nada. Y así es como desde los doce años conoce sexualmente a la ya entonces muy mayor Rebeca como vieja putilla esquinera, que hasta encaprichada con aquel niño tan lindo, se lo quiere llevar a vivir a su carromato, y en la adolescencia, con la negrita mucho más joven de Eva, con la que también se vuelve a endulzar hasta que ingresa en la Universidad y ella se va del barrio para luego regresar. De manera increíble el lector se entera de este orígen ya casi al final de la trama, cuando Sam le ha encargado a Polet, su nuevo y más ardiente amor, su Josefina estéril, completamente perfecta para él, y él completamente indispensable para ella, que lo venda todo para irse a vivir aún más retirado y solitario a Ayampe. Ésa sería la razón de que la decimosexta novela de Edison, (Sam Scholl), POLET, sea el retrato literario de un mundo todo corrupto, pero de una corrupción completamente perfecta para ser comida y digerida por cualquier lector, mayor de dieciocho años, tal como comer con mucha hambre una manzana saturada de miel y a punto de echarse a perder.
