in this video i get the head removed off the dodge 2.4 stratus motor and look at the cylinder walls and look at the head for any obvious problems.now its time to move on to clean and prepping to put it all back together.

More of a description of what you’re taking off, why you’re taking it off, how to take it off would be awesome. My head blew in my car. As far as mechanics go I knew a fair amount however I’ve never taken anything apart. I’ve watch it some what from a outside perspective but that’s it. I’m a single mother and can’t afford a shop. I’ve decided to do it myself. There are limited videos or resources and what is available doesn’t give a whole lot of explanation. I under the knockers, crankshaft, manifold, etc coming off. However, I don’t know much more then that. Any advice I would more than great full to hear.

I have an avenger with the same motor. Shade-Tree skilled not certified.. But I have what sounds like a lifter tap. Need to know what to do even though I'm about to do a head gasket replacement. Is there something I should look at

i really do think pulling the motor would have been easier then having to fight everything, that way you could have re -gasket-ed it complete and checked the bottom end as well but like they say it is what it is

On this motor, do you have to remove the timing belt to get the head off?
@tlcbear27 жыл бұрын
yes you do

No ideas on how to get more likes. I always hit like on your videos when I watch them but usually am a few weeks behind because I just can't seem to find the time to watch all the videos I am subscribed to daily.

I replaced a broken/leaking valve cover gasket and spark plug seals this weekend on this motor. Same year. I know I'm late on the video. Mine has 158,xxx miles. What I would have liked is if you used the tripod for the camera. Maybe tell us why you are doing what you are doing. There isn't too much about these motors on KZbin so please keep up the great work. I've subscribed so I can keep up with new stuff. Are you still running this car?

thanks for sub. we ended up selling the car and we know where its at and they are still having great luck with it. we sold it because the wife health it was getting to hard to get out of.

Don't change nothing bear if folks don't like it o well you're just bein you. Not putting on a show or a front. That's why I watch.

thank you.like i say i try to keep it real and not hide all the mess ups and make it look to easy cause in real life some of these repairs take longer on older or used cars and you end up fighting rust.

To improve your videos maybe try pointing to the parts with a cheap laser pointer?

Flex fuel vehicles have a yellow gas cap.....unless someone has changed it. Vehicle Emissions Control Information label under the hood. Test group no.# is just below the engine size " Group XXXXXXXXXX" 12th Character P through V is flex fuel. I don't think the 2.4 was ever a flew fuel.
