2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Replaced all rocker arms and hydraulic valve lash on the right side of engine immediately after hearing ticking noise @119,328 on 8/26/21. One rocker arm was bad and 3 had some play. Job needed a valve cover gasket set, upper intake gaskets and Throttle Body gasket (not replaced). Replaced torque crews on PCV valve (old gasket used) with 5mm bolts for easy access. Remove the throttle body to access the 2 throttle body support bolts. Two bolts removed to relocate transmission fill tube. Special tools needed to secure the cam shaft. Lifter: 12x: MELLING JB7525 Rocher Arm: 12x: MELLING MR1332

don't need take any brackets off to take upper intake off. Just remove bolts from back and in front use 4mm socket and take stem and bolt with it off. Then pull up and slide forward.

Why didn't they do it like a old 22re Toyota engine, no lifters or rollers involved, the only reason I can think of is less noise,I'll take dependability over less noise any day lol

It’s 1 per valve so I believe it’s 24 of them.. yes replacing all its a good idea but that means removing the timing chain to remove the ones near the timing sprockets so might as well replace timing guides.

If it ain't broke don't fix it. The more you mess around inside the valve cover the more likely you're gonna throw the engine out of time and if you have to ask this question you're not gonna have a good time timing one of these.

My 2021 Charger GT is Ticking and getting worse by the day. I just watched a video and it's ridiculous that this started a decade ago and still counting. I've been to two different Dealerships and both said it's normal of course. It's depressing hearing your Engine sound like shit and getting worse while your paying on it. Plus I bought it with intentions of keeping it for 10-15 years and no way in hell that's happening unless something changes.

Good. I have a problem with a 2011 dodge charger 3.6 with 190 thousand miles that I bought. I changed the expired oil, changed the spark plugs, cleaning the injectors, cleaning important sensors, acceleration body. Once it has been tuned, it will be given a 5w / 30 oil to clean the inside of the engine. I changed the synthetic caite x 10w / 30 again. THE DETAIL THAT I STARTED TO RING IN THE COLD THAT IS 1 OR 2 SECONDS AND NOW. I turn on the check ingine and the result is the camshafts and I have changed them, The 3 chain tensioners are changed and everything is fine. And the rattle came back. What will be the problem? They do not know what it can be. Can you help me?
@xCHAV0x2 жыл бұрын
Where is the rattle coming from? Top, front, or bottom of engine? If the rattle is coming from the top then u might have to look into the lifters and rockers… if it’s coming from the front, check the length of the chain it could have stretched causing it to rattle… if it coming from the bottom then check the rod bearings. Hope this helps!
@alejandro22222212 жыл бұрын
