@Florida Man the one you have is the Daimler era one. Those ones have much worse quality because they hadn’t been refined by Chrysler yet. Daimler took their platform and literally made it as cheap as possible at that time. The 2011 plus ones are 10x better in every way. I’ve had both and there’s a big difference in the quality of the car as a whole especially the interior. I’d try to get one of the 2011+ ones I did and have 0 regrets. Powertrain is basically bulletproof regardless of the year tho since it’s a Chrysler engine not a stupid Daimler.

I have my redline set to 6200rpms, but only go that high when I am in 4th gear to get the extra MPH. I do this because i noticed that if I shift around 4600-4800 RPMS my 0-60 is at its fastest and that is where all the torque/power band seems to be with mine, if I shift any higher, I notice slower 0-60 times, but honestly I need to take this to a ET drag strip to get the real numbers on this. With a stock cam, he's not going to see any power increase past around 5900rpm. My stock r/t was slower if I shifted above 6k rpms, but now I shift at 7k rpm with the Comp 274 cam. Too bad I can't shift at 7400, too risky..

Incorrect. Any higher than he's going and he'll just be revving. With a stock cam they run out of steam a pretty good bit before redline. Still holds true as late as my 2017 RT T/A as well.

The auto in the pre 15 challengers and chargers were junk. Tr6060 is the only way to go in earlier model challengers. I feel like that old auto slows the car down lol. My buddy had a 6.1 auto and raced a 5.7 8 speed. He beat him by barely a car length. Considering it's a 50 to 60 horse difference should've been a bigger gap than that

And Chassis supposedly too but later found out it may have been partially or more bs for the frame, asides the Crossfire it shared the SLK chassis Mercedes. Just fix the windshield, its chump change to keep style and 6.4 litters of hemi boom!. That Vet will be nice, but you wont be able to take anyone but your wife in it for a ride, not to mention your 6.4l hemi puts down more power than most of the vets out there unless you like to pay, and at that point you might as well go to the Viper. not everyone knows how to drive. I sit at the light with the 6R80 in sport shift foot on brake and hold idle at 1200rpm. When I launch I get about 15ft of moderate spin with Nitto all seasons 255s and let the 6R80 do its job. I hit 8 seconds in the 1/8 at Miami Homstead speedway consistently. The Shaker is heavier but has 485 hp and a good tourqe range. It will keep up and pass if the other guy is better with a clutch.

I think it is a great transmission thus far, the T6060 is the same transmission used in the Viper's & Corvettes. The only thing I would recommend is to replace the factory transmission oil with Royal Purple SynMax Transmission fluid or better, helps a ton in the winter to keep butter shifts.The Clutch seems to be still holding up (no slips) I am using a Barton short shiftier, and I power shift often, just don't let people drive your car, those are the ones who might burn up that clutch. :)

Challenger has an emailed tuned with a bunch of little bolts on's that amount to almost nothing. I've done them all - you're talking maybe 15whp & 20 ft-lb with the little list of stuff he added

Since I live in California, I would have to do most the work myself, and work with email tunes and running to dyno shop for testing, which is 40miles from me, since no one in California can legally do this kind of work (tune/install race cams) cuz of CA emission laws. Right now I have better chances with a Supercharger, which works better with Stock cams anyhow, and tuning them to pass emission is cake, so that is the direction I am heading.

msaleh93 hard to say. But the 8 speed has proven to be more efficient in power usage. I have a 13 challenger. Gearing does wonders to. Alot of the challenger chargers we see come though are only coming with a 3.09 rear end.
