I really appreciate this video. I'm having what I suspect to be a drive shaft issue and I definitely learned something that will help me when I'm talking to the stealership. Nothing worse than inspecting your car and being unable to pinpoint the problem, or not understanding what it may be before being at the mercy of a shop that may or may not have competent or honest mechanics.

I'm pretty sure this is exactly what's going on with my car. I wasn't paying attention the other day and back up onto a curb fairly hard. Next time I drove it sounded like a playing card in bike spokes

I'm wondering if this is what i have going on. 2017 awd hemi it will make a fluttering noise only while coasting which clears as soon as you increase the throttle. Also does not do this in autostick mode. I've heard motor mounts, front dif 🤷🏻‍♂️ Anyway this is a great video and it's great to see a genuine educator - I see and appreciate the time used to make it happen! 🙌🏻🥂

If the shaft and actual bearing are still good, you can replace the carrier bracket and bushing with a product from JXB Performance--you just cut off the stock bracket and rubber bushing.

I have 2018 scat pack charger the car was driving perfectly fine until i hit a corner going up hill and heard a studder under the car i pull over to the side of the road and it wouldnt accelerate , or go into park but the car turns on and off sounds perfectly fine , do you think its my drive shaft??

Hey Alex, so I'm having a similar issue with my Charger. I've changed rear diff, axles, and I still have vibrations and it makes a clunking noise underneath. Mainly while driving uphill or something. I've took it to like 4 shops and no one knows. They tell me to change like diff 2x, axles and it still happens. I always questioned the driveshaft but I don't think anyone has really looked at it. The car sometimes drive like it's out of sync like 2 gears ⚙️ ⚙️ that intertwine If that makes sense. For me to get rid of it, I usually stomp on the gas and then it seems to get in sync and goes away for a bit. Idk if you can think of anything to what I may be experiencing. I'm to the point where I feel like getting rid of it. I have my Charger in NY and Durango in GA. If they were swapped I'd definitely come to you

My 2017 challenger is making a clicking, then in reverse im getting a sloppy thud, slight vibrations, then I'm also getting brake vibration which I think is a warped rotor but I can't figure out if it's the axle or drive shaft or rear end. It seems to click more on a right hand turn but sometimes it won't do it and if I keep it under tension it stops. It's a 6 speed.

2012 charger SRT. I have vibration problem above 50mph. Only with load accelerating. I leave the throttle it stops. Only above 50. I changed centre shaft bearing, tranny mount, rubber shaft coupler. Still there. What could cause vibration with throttle only?? Tires? Axle shaft? Diff? Note:2014 below come in 2 piece shaft with u joint. You can replace the centre bearing by itself. 2015+ is like yours in the video

Hey there buddy it sounds like you have a bad rear cv axle.I have had Several of my customer Vehicles come in to my shop with complaints just like that, I checked it out and it turns out it was a CV axle

You will have to get under the car inspect your driveshaft for loose driveshaft components if you’re not sure what you’re looking for you can take a video of something that doesn’t look right and send it to me

@@1408bayarea we ended up paying the 2k and the new driveshaft broke seconds after we exited the parking lot. They figured out where they made the mistake tho and gave us a new one for free.

@joestar5629 my car is at the shop for over a week now they couldn't find the noise and to end it was raining for like 5 days since I dropped it off they finally got to drive it around with some microphones they put under the car and said it was my differential making the noise and were going to see if my warranty covered it since I'm right at my 60000 miles power train warranty

Hey there it’s hard to identify the problem with out looking at it but I may be able to steer you in the right direction. The problem may be cv axle,a bad differential or loose suspension parts.jack the front of the truck up in a safe manner start by making sure the cv boots are not ripped open next jack the rear up while the front is still supported with jack stands all 4 wheels should be off the ground have a buddy place the truck In drive make sure traction Control is off Drive the truck in the air and turn the wheels to try to mimic the noise finally by the way this is not in any specific order turn the truck off make sure it’s still supported in the air grab the wheel firmly and check for play I will send a video showing how to do this next step

But when I Pull Out The Main Shaft From Car which Sends Power to Rear Wheels Via PTU, The Car is Running very smoothly, even in Turns. I have checked the Main shaft its in Good condition . The problem comes in when I Put back the Shaft back in Car.

You can, I've done it on my Charger. You just need a minimum 220 axles. I did 230mm axles. Mine stock had 195mm axles

Hellp! I broke both my axles in my charger, trying to takeoff fast🤦🏾‍♂️ replaced them, right rear axle pulls apart from the boot out the diff, got a new one, happens AGAIN a month later 🤯 what is going on? I hadn't drove it hard since the first break. Also before the 2nd axle break I noticed on left cornering or turning..even changing lanes going over 30mph, my rear end felt like it was floating and walked across the road. Right turns were fine😩 any ideas??

Hey buddy it sounds like you may have loose/broken suspension components in the rear maybe bushings, ball joints etc. I won’t be able to help much on this matter I will need to see it in person. I have a video showing how to check for loose suspension components that may help. Once you fix the rear suspension component that is damage you shouldn’t have anymore problem with that axel breaking apart. I do know my differential bushings are shot, but I didn't think they were that shot enough to pull the right rear axle apart 🤦🏾‍♂️ and I know I have a few other bad bushings in some of the control arms in the rear also

The Dodge AWD driveshaft from a Mopar parts dealer, p/n 68261528AD, has an ''unservicable'' carrier bearing in it. They only want $1389.42!!! Dorman has the same shaft for $850, p/n 976986..... DO NOT waste your money and time buying a Dorman, they ''might'' last 91 days,, and then they give you a bunch of shyt when you try their b/s warranty!! It may cost more upfront, but stick to Mopar parts, it'll save you money, time, and headaches later!
