Trooper's Report:
On December 6, 2023, at approximately 7:03 p.m. I was traveling southbound on U.S. Highway 79 by Flying Burger, when I
overheard a Magnolia Police Officer in pursuit of a Black Dodge Charger on U.S. Highway 79 by Walmart. They requested
assistance from the Arkansas State Police. I turned around on U.S. Highway 79 and began traveling northbound because I was
only about a half mile from their location. I notified Hope to let them know that the city was in pursuit.
After turning around, I activated my emergency lights and siren in an attempt to stop the suspect vehicle. The suspect then
passed me on my passenger side and continued to flee. We turned westbound onto U.S. Highway 82 headed toward Buckner.
We reached 140 miles per hour coming by Columbia Road 13 inside the city limits. I knew there were railroad tracks that were
coming up, so I slowed down to cross them. As we were coming to the intersection of U.S. Highway 82 and U.S. Highway 371,
there was a traffic control device that was green at the time, but I slowed down to make sure the intersection was clear. After
getting outside of the city limits, the suspect vehicle passed two vehicles in the turning lane of U.S. Highway 82 near the
intersection of Columbia Road 150. I was traveling 150 miles per hour and the suspect vehicle was still pulling away from me. I
lost sight of the suspect vehicle momentarily near the intersection of Columbia Road 27 and U.S. 82. Trooper Jordan Drake
notified the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office about the pursuit.
After I crested the hill, I saw the suspect vehicle again on U.S. Highway 82 near Columbia Road 33. When I was approaching
the hill, I lost sight of the suspect. I regained sight of the suspect vehicle on U.S. Highway 82 near the intersection of U.S.
Highway 98. The suspect vehicle then passed a total of 4 cars on a bridge going around a curve. I lost sight of the suspect
vehicle once again but regained sight on U.S. Highway 82 near Columbia Road 106. After I lost sight of the suspect vehicle,
Trooper Drake told me later that Lafayette County had picked up the suspect vehicle coming through Buckner.
I saw blue lights near Buckner, I continued but used caution when traveling through the city. I once again saw blue lights as I
was approaching Stamps, but then lost sight. I slowed down again since I was coming into the City of Stamps. While I was
traveling through Stamps, Trooper Drake said the suspect vehicle turned off on a city street. As I was driving on U.S. Highway
82 near Opera Street, I noticed the suspect vehicle back in front of me. The suspect vehicle then passed cars in a no-passing
zone. When the suspect vehicle was passing cars on U.S. Highway 82 near May’s collision, the suspect vehicle almost hit
head-on with a vehicle in the opposite direction. After getting out of Stamps, a deputy turned around and was in front of me. I
then took secondary. I let Trooper Drake know our location because he was going to set spike strips up on Miller County near
Miller County Road 27. As we were going westbound on U.S. Highway 82 near State Highway 296, I thought we lost him since
we had not seen him in a couple of minutes. Lafayette County continued with the pursuit. I turned off my lights and sirens and
canceled the pursuit because I was unable to see the vehicle. I then heard Trooper Drake say here comes the suspect vehicle
and that he spiked it.
I turned my lights and sirens back on and went towards Trooper Drake’s location. Trooper Drake said that his spike strips were
on the shoulder and that he left them. As I was going around a bridge, the deputy in front of me ran over the spike strips and
the spike strips then came back into the highway. I ran over the spike strips with my front passenger side tire. As I was pulling
over, I heard Sgt. Jones was out with Trooper Drake and they had two subjects in custody without further incident.
The driver who was identified as Troy Randleston and the passenger was identified as Jaylisha Thompson. Randleston was
then taken to Lafayette County awaiting his first appearance for Felony Fleeing and Aggravated Assault.
